Hi - new to the forum but I was hoping to get some opinions/advice on maintenance. My 2010 III went into service on 12/30/09. I have 28,700 miles. I have had maybe 4 maintenaces done. 3 were "minor" and 1 was what they call "intermediate". That was done the beginning of November 2013 at 26,000 and they used the 0w20 oil. So in theory that gives me 10,000 miles/1 year. but given the fact the car is now 4 1/2 years old is there anything else that I should do - like a major maintenance simply because of the age? I need to go in to get the recall issue repaired so wanted to combine any maintenance I should do.

Also, I am pretty sure there is a way to turn off the maintenance required warning that comes on a 5K intervals. I couldn't find it here but may have missed it. Does anyone know the sequence/buttons to press to reset it?

    Thanks

You should replace the trany fluid, over that many years it may contain something.

I'm not sure what the question is. The owner manual is pretty explicit what and when should be done. Ie: oil level every fueling, tire rotation every 5000 miles, oil+filter every 10000 miles, air+cabin filter every 30000 miles, etc. It's the owner responsibility to make sure it's done.

Trans fluid should be replaced. Hardly driven sometimes increases the moisture content of the fluid a little and will eventually go acidic. Plus its the original fluid which means you never got the break in wear stuff out of there. You asked. I recommended.

I say this because I have seen pics of G3 fluid and it looks alot worse than g2 fluid at the same miles.

I pulled the trans fluid on my new G2 at 5,000 miles and it was already showing signs of wear. The next change at 30k was not even close to that in terms of wear on the fluid. Its those first 10k that are the worst.
