I just got off of the phone with my insurance company. Given the same coverage, deductible and miles, my 2014 PiP is going to cost almost 25% less to insure than my 2002 Camry SE.

The Camry has a 6 cylinder engine, but it's no sports car. It's got side-curtain air bags and most of the safety features the 2014 models have. I'm not complaining, mind you... :)

Maybe you were getting hosed with your Camry.
