    Hello all!

We have a new 2014 Prius Plug-in BASE and my wife has her trusted iPhone 5.
Bluetooth works great for phone calls but that's about it. It looks like all the other features in the Navi/head unit that require internet(phone) connectivity are disabled or not working. Specifically, Pandora, traffic act as if there is no phone connected.

She did install the Entune application on her phone, all seems to be fine on the phone side but the Prius does not seems to like it or even recognize it. Only phone calls seem to work over bluetooth.

    What are we missing here?
She has the "base" Navi. I read somewhere that in order for all features to work with the base unit, there must be hardwired connection between the iPhone and the car (USB). Is this true? Should i just get a USB cable for her iPhone?

Any other advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks!

I'm in SF too, with my new PIP. I believe that for the iPhone 5, the phone needs to be connected physically via the USB port, and the Entune App actually running, for all the Entune features to work.

this is correct, Etunes needs to be on the phone and running to use the features. It also need to be runnig and that is where it is odd, as you really cannot tell it is working sometimes. Basicly it is using the phone to do all the work and very little of the HU other than reproduce sounds.

I just upgraded to android from my trusty iPhone 4s. I was a pleasantly surprised that entune connected wirelessly. It's odd that you have to physically plug the iPhone through use to use entune.

    Hi All!!

It does work with the iPhone 5 connected via the USB cable. Tested last night and all is good now.

    Thank you for the help!

Is this unique to the PIP? I have Entune working using my iPhone 5 in my 2014 Prius IV via a Bluetooth connection and the hotspot function on the iPhone.

From the little experience I've had with the iPhone and USB, it helps if you wait for the radio to come up first before plugging the USB cable in. The Entune app also has to be running in the background at the very least. Sometimes i just have to restart the app and then I'll get the data charge warning screen. But I think it works great!
