Spent the past few hours reading various sections of the forums since getting my 2014 Prius V yesterday.

I see several references that say "Prius v (lower case)".

Maybe I'm a little slow but what exactly does this mean? As far as I know I have a V-2, one step below the V-3 (navigation). Or do I need to dig deeper into what I have.

I just traded from a 2008 Hatchback and a lot has changed. It has been a while since I have dug through these forums.

    Thanks,
    Bob

It's actually lower case v, for versatile as in multipurpose. Much of the confusion stems from Toyota using Roman numerals like V for 5, I, II, III, and IV previously to denote the trim levels.

The badge on the back of the v looks like PriusV, and the Prius c looks like PriusC. But no one refers to the little Prius as Prius C.

OK, thanks. Just didn't want anyone jumping on me because I used Prius V instead of Prius v. :)

Prius c/C and v/V are used somewhat interchangeably here, but the trim levels on the v are Two, Three and Five, not II, III and V.

But the moderators often edit to make corrections on the v/V issue.

Thanks all. Sounds a little confusing so unless I have something specific I'll not worry about it. On to the important stuff.

Yeah. You have a Prius v while for one model year (2010), the packages (like your Two) were using roman numerals so there was a 2010 Prius II, III, IV and V. Then the v came along and Toyota switched the packaging numbers to letters (Two, Three, Four and Five).

So in your profile, under "Model", it should be a Two since that's the model you bought - Prius v Two.

Late last night I was out on the Toyota site looking for a couple of things and saw that their names are: Prius v Two, Prius v Three, and Prius v Five. So I tried to update my profile here on the forum.

Under Your Vehicle Year: I only have one Prius v choice: Prius v wagon. Then under Model: I have the Two, Three and Five.

Thus my profile shows Prius v wagon Two . Go figure.
