I think of it like it is the real world version of one of those video games I grew up on...all that hand-eye coordination and twitch reaction help sometimes.

It's been about a month or so since I had my recall done and I just noticed a yellow sticker on the bottom of the door jam. I finally bent down to read it and it says"Caution this vehicle has been modified and the loading capacity of this vehicle has been reduced by 4 lbs." What a stupid sticker. Does anybody else get this sticker and do you know if this is part of the recall?

Very interesting post recall tidbit. I just looked at my door jamb and the sticker is there, but says load capacity is reduced by 5 kg or 10 lb.

Well I just went to read my sticker again and it does say 2kg. or 4lbs. I wonder why the difference? maybe year or package? Mine is a 2012 Pkg. 2

    Strange

    Authorized Modifications
The Following Modifications Have Been Made
Software update for motor generator and power management ECU's

    Also has delaer code/date
    and
    Change Authority EOE

The "reduced load" sticker isn't related to the recall; they put that on if you have any port-installed accessories. I've heard that even getting floor mats can motivate them to install those stickers...

I had mine done about two months ago. I hadn't observed any particular driving quirks beforehand, and haven't noticed any changes since.

Did it today MPG went to 35.8 mpg from 42.0 and there's no explanation . They did say I can bring it back next week so they will plug in the computer. This will help diagnose but that is within range ??? . I have been getting 42 since I bought the car back in 1013 its a 2011 . Never received a car wash from the dealer just a broken rear deck when they were replacing the rear lift assists the newbie never supported the deck and it came crashing down he jumped. Caused 2500 damage poor dealership and I only had owned it for 30 days.

    Not saying nothing's happening but:

Same day, you're concluding your mileage has tanked? Give it a few days. Or a calculated tank or two.

It's been about a month now since I had my upgrade. Getting 60 mpg on the way to work is no problem. Pretty consistent to what I was getting before the recall.

However, after some "exciting" moments on the highway in a thunder storm, It was time for new tires and that caused a considerable drop in mpg's (50-54 same trip). Pretty consistent with what I got when the car was new.

I went with the OE tires Goodyear Advantage fuel savers made in Japan.

Had the recall done 3 months ago. Inverter died yesterday. 3-4 weeks on backorder. What a pain. 2010 w/ 35k miles.

We flogged the Prius pretty good on a cross country trip over the holidays (pre software update). Fully loaded with 4 people with a full hatch, there was a lot of full throttle in the mountains and in the 80 MPH speed limit areas. IIRC I got 33 mpg on that 3000 mile CA to FL trip. Pretty sure that did not help my inverter last longer.

Our 06 RX400h was also recalled for a similar issue a few years ago. The difference is, it was a hardware update rather than software only.

No noticeable difference between pre and post recall performance on my 2010.

I sure hope that is not a sign for others... Sorry about your issue. Hopefully it is just a fluke.

Thanks for the sympathy. They put my wife in a 2014 V so it is not so bad. Forgot to mention dealer had 4 others waiting for inverters. 2 had not received the update though.

Made an appointment for the recall. Checked in with the service deptartment, got collides and water and just waited for about an hour. The service representative even threw in a free car wash and vaccum. I was glad my my dealer and Prius 2010 III.

Yeah - they likely left it on during the update, with the ICE running to burn up some gas.
