    "A puny 10.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row was increased to 13.8 cubic feet for 2014. For those hoping to get into a Highlander Hybrid, they'll be happy to hear that cargo room isn't sacrificed for the hybrid system's battery."

    That's quite the space increase. Of course this still highlights the reason why minivans are still superior in carrying people and cargo. However, those that need to do either/or in a jiffy, a 3-row midsize SUV is a reasonable compromise.

    Doesn't sound like much, but there is now at least a few extra inches in depth. That's the difference between an umbrella stroller and a real stroller plus a diaper bag and stuff. And the third row seats now can be adjusted to nearly completely upright to a modest recline, which can also help a little with cargo vs. passenger space. Definitely no comparison to a minivan or something like a Ford Flex, though.

    Still not sure why it is you can buy a Honda Odyssey LX for less money than a 2WD Highlander or Pilot w/V6. Bigger vehicle, better fuel economy, better towing, sliding doors, excellent safety all around, save a couple thousand bucks. I really like my Highlander Hybrid, but price and interior room definitely weren't selling points.
