Nothing but Michelins for me. I 'll bet if you throw those away and buy a new set of Michelins you will notice a lot of difference. The toll free number for Michelin customer service is (800) 847-3435. They will recommend the right tires for your car.

I think part of this noise problem may have something to do with undercoating on the car. In most of the southern states the cars are not "rustproofed" / Undercoated and that might explain why some people have a quiet ride while other without any undercoating have noisy tires. Planning on getting mine undercoated and see if that improves the noise I am getting! Will post the results.

Those are expensive tires to throw away, as someone mentioned....

Live in Canada and 98% of people here do not rustproof cars with undercoating. Those that do typically use some kind of oil mixture and that certainly is not going to cut sound.

Virtually any reliable source will suggest undercoating is just a waste of money. Dealers love it..easy money for the F&I department.

I have these tires, and although I notice I need to bump up the volume a couple of ticks on my stereo once I get on the turnpike, I don't expect my Prius to be Mercedes quiet.

No problem with mine so far at 22K miles. Smooth and quiet. Tire noise also depends a lot with type of road surface.
