I'm pretty well acquainted with baking open headlights on various cars to paint the inner housings but from what I understand, tail lights can be different depending on the vehicle. Some of which can be baked open if it is held with adhesive but there are some that are plastic welded and pretty much gotta be dremeled open. Does anybody know if it would be possible to bake or heat the rear tails open? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks all!

Is it really worth that much trouble........I mean REALLY ??

The end result likely will be a safety hazard and illegal and just a bad ideal in general.
And pretty much the same thing can be done from the outside........if you insist.

Hmm. Wondering if you could bake open the OEM tail lights too. I'm not a big fan of all that chrome paint and would be cool if I could easily black those parts out.

Something to consider... unlike the headlight assembly, the tail lights contain some possibly heat sensitive components (LEDs, circuit board) within.

Hmm.... Really? What's illegal or a safety hazard about opening and closing the taillights? OP didn't even say why they wanted to open them. Maybe there's some debris in the light.. ?

There are several companies in Japan that specialize in the modifications of Back Taillights.

Beverly Auto is one of the leaders that can custom Headlights/Taillights

Tail lights are sonically welded. They don't bake off. You'd literally have to cut the lens off with a Dremel and then use a heavy plastic adhesive to reassemble.

Maybe for some taillights but the Valenti taillights can be easily opened. There's a member here who modify them to retrofit rear fog lights to make them within code for use in Europe and re-sell them as such.
