What brought me into the dealership was the gas mileage and price (rebate).

What sold me was the SKS and push button start. I think it's the coolest thing to be able to hop in and go without my hand ever needing to touch the key fob in my pocket. The car unlocks itself with the door sensor, open the door, plant my butt on the seat, hit the start button, and off I go.

I guess I'm easy to please......

I think the Prius transaxle is the neatest thing. Plus, regen braking makes me feel like I'm driving an F1 car.....without the power, downforce, sound, and looks.

1- the car is very attractive

2- tons of technology crammed into a " spacious" package

    3- this forum

    4- resale value

    5- build quality, longevity

    6- fulfills my inner nerd

7- doing my part to save what's left of our fossil fuels

8- the endless hate I receive from other drivers, wanting to know, why I bought an "economy car"

My personal favorite- " Don't worry son, things will get better and you'll be able to afford a nicer, regular size car soon" ( he then compared it to a Chevy spark) I then say "you do realize that this car is about 30 k new". Which was countered with " Wow, you got rooked"

    Lol

Proven reliability, lots of space inside, cleaner running, often running on electric motor on slower city runs.

I was sold by the Miles Per Gallon, and the "green" California HOV lane sticker on my 2014 PiP. I've got 2 kids, and time is becoming more and more valuable. I can cut 45 minutes out of my commute by using the carpool lanes. I drive 25,000/year, and as much as I loved my 2002 Camry, the 21 mpg was adding up. With a 0% APR car loan from Toyota on the Prius, I can offset a good part of the car payment with savings on insurance and gasoline!

My work offers inexpensive charging with an added benefit of priority parking, which is nice. I commute between three campuses and can do all of my back and forth driving on EV.

Being able to spend the time in my car with Bluetooth integration, voice activation and the Entune suite, I can take calls, make calls and change the stereo without taking my eyes off the road.

I've got to admit, I never thought much of the Prius until I thought about the gas mileage, went to a lot and drove one.

That is great that your Prius is working out so well for you.
How many miles can you drive on the EV , when car has a good charge.
My use of my Prius is a bit different, I take it out of town on a 600 mile round trip about once a month, the rest of the time I run errands with it. I drive a pick up truck for my 9 to 5.

Besides the mpg? All the technology. I've always been a truck guy and still have one. However, when it comes to commuting I'm very practical.

Combination of sporty looks and gas mileage. I commute 63 miles to Philly every day, one way. I kept seeing these Prius' passing me by in my F-150 and thinking to myself, "that dude is getting 50 plus mpg."

Then I test drove one and the turning ratio and fun-to-drive quotient sold me

Compared to what I driven before, it practically pays for itself with the fuel and maintenance savings. I can't complain. :D

I felt the same, and did something about it.

I love this! I absolutely love your seat covers! Where did you get those? I might have to get some nice vinyl graphics for when I head down to Dragon Con for Labor Day weekend. This would be an awesome car to drive down there. I'd probably have to do Voyager themed though since that's my favorite show.

The seat covers were done by Wet Okole. They may still have the graphics that I sent them.

As crazy as this sounds, I was attracted by my Prius C's small size. I live in a heavily congested parking area and it's impossible to find parking on our tacoma sometimes.

So the first criteria was tiny and next was fuel economy.

I admit I was skeptical when the Prius first hit the local markets. An efficient small diesel could return similar mileage without the uncertainty of "unproven" technology. Now, after seeing local taxis complete 400-500,000 kms without issue, I am about to join the Prius ranks.

    Reliability
    Economy
Efficient interior (Prius v 7 seater)
    Compact exterior

I see more and more Prii cabs around here, so they must know something. :D

In my area? HOV lanes :) my 2010 was the last year (maybe 2011) that the hybrid exemption was allowed. Luckily you can transfer the plates when you trade it in :)

Now it's MPG. Thought of another car with hybrid but I'm spoiled at the 50+!

    I just bought a 2014 Prius c (build 3) on July 4th.

A little about myself - I'm 50 and have been married for 23 years. We are homeowners in a pretty affluent area (Newport Beach, CA), but we also are pretty frugal - our cars are not meant to be status symbols. With that said - the Prius is becoming darn popular in these parts.

So - why the Prius c?

We haven't made a car payment in years - we had a 2001 Subaru Outback, and a 2004 BMW 5 series that I drove. With maintenance getting costly, and my work commute getting increasingly dense, I was sick of getting 17-18 mpg on my commute. With gas prices well into the $4 dollar range, we were ready to get a new car.

Knowing that we would be replacing the Subaru in a year or 2 (it has less mileage and has been more dependable), we originally wanted to go "cheap" and get a car under $20,000 (not inluding taxes). We assumed it would be a traditional motor with nice mileage.

While I became increasingly irritated with the mpg on my BMW, I started looking at hybrids. I have a neighbor (who works for Toyota corporate), and he has a Toyota Prius plug-in and Lexus CT200h, so I was inspired. That is when I found that the C model is pretty darn affordable.

    Now - for the surprises.

I actually was surprised by the drive. Living in Southern California, I thought it was be brutally slow. I was swayed by statistics, and the know-it-all's on the internet! While the BMW could get to 60 really fast (and the Outback isn't bad since it is a 6 cylinder), I haven't experienced an issue.

Also, I enjoy having 2014 technology. Working as an engineer who designs speech recognition software, I am enjoying the Blue Tooth technology. I love integrating with my cell phones, and music. I love the informational screens for car performance.

I'm in love with the technology, and I find the car a blast to drive. My work commute is now fun! I am still learning to maximize gas mileage (I'm getting there) - to me, this is as fun as going 0-60 in 4 seconds are to others. And, I am getting this for a price way under MSRP!

My wife is loving it to - we have padded the amount we'll use for the next car (something bigger, but most likely another hybrid).

Our only compaints - while we got a great deal, the day still took a toll on us!

Sorry for the long "story", but I just wanted to share my happiness so far!

Nope - "Toll($)" would have been $10 one way.

More like "an adverse affect on us" - time instead of money!
