So i ordered my barcelona red #4 with grey cloth interior on February 27th... my dealer has informed me today that I can expect an April 10th delivery... He imformed me that the car is now en-route to the US and he has the VIN number.

I have already ordered (and as of yesterday recieved) all wether OEM all0weather mats off of ebay, and the simple human trash bag dispenser (which will ship in the first week of april) so I will be ready to go when my car arrives... I am so excited!!! :D :D :D :D

I ordered from LaRiche Toyota in Findlay, Ohio... So if you want priuses, the wait there seems to be a bit shorter than elsewhwhere... And there is no backorder at Thayer Toyota in Bowling Green Ohio. I would have ordred there but my mother was dead set that I order from LaRiche, as she has purchased her last 4 cars there... from the same salesman no less... (1990-91 Subaru legacy, 1996 Subaru Outback, 1997 Toyota T-100, 2006 Toyota Highlander)

I will keep this updated as I get new news...

The waiting is the hardest part... anyone else have Prius dreams at night during thir waiting period???? Seriously...?

Oh yeah, and I am also considering getting the wheelskins leather steering wheel cover... I just recieved the sample leather color swatches in the mail today... I am going to wait until I actualy get the Prius to see how the colors look in contrast to the interior... ::sigh:: The waiting...

UPDATE: I found out a couple of days ago that I can expect to recieve my car around April 10th... Hopefully it will be a red #4 with grey cloth interior, because thats what I want... although I would be willing to upgrade to a package #6 but not compromise on interior or exterior colors...

Well congratulations! There will be twin's running around in Ohio. I ordered my Barcelona Red #4 with gray interior on February 11th and they still haven't given me a delivery date. :(

They did tell me 8 weeks which would put it at about the same time as you get yours. They just haven't been able to give me any details on the car yet.

Good luck and keep us up to speed. I'm like you... I can't wait!!!

I've suggested this before to many Prius waiters:

Both of you could benefit from borrowing a Prius owner's manual from the dealer and reading it (probably twice) while waiting. It kills two birds with one stone.

So a quick update: I have recieved the all-weather OEM floor mats for my prius. I was able to order them off of EBay for about $50.00 for all 4 mats, still new in original packaging... They are currently hanging in my closet until I hve a Prius to put them in...

These are serious heavy-duty floor mats and I am very much looking forward to nato having to deal with trying to keep carpet floor mats clean as I have been doing with my beetle... living in NW Ohio in the middle of the "Great Black Swamp" (yes, I actually live in what was a swamp ) in a 4 season climate of spring mud and muck, scortching dry dusty summers of 90-100 degrees F, snow and mud filled winters, and dry, leafy fall/autumns, makes an absolurte mess of my floors in the Beetle... If you live in climates like here or cannot tolerate dirty car interiors, get these floor mats, I will have pictures o these too when the car arrives.... (the waiting is almost unbearable)

So I stopped by my dealership on Thursday, March 30. My car arrived in Port on March 28th, and I can still expect delivery on April 10th (or sooner, lets hope for sooner!) I have asked my dealer to look into possibly getting an all weather mat for the cargo area... I will be transporting my bicycle around to various bike trails in NW Ohio and would hate to get the trunk carpet dirty...

So Update... the car was supposed to arrive on April 10th... And according to toyotas invintory, it has arrived at LaRiche Toyota in Findlay. Well that was monday and by now, tuesday night, there is no Prius. LaRiche claims they are just as frustrated as me as they don't know where the delivery truck is... I am oh so desperately hoping that the car will arrive on Wednesday the 12th... Let us pray................................................Amen.

Oh my god! So I FINALLY have the Prius... I am in Heaven... this car far surpasses all of my expectations... Some first day observations:

A lot of people talk about the prius seeming "remote" and "detached" in its steering...well I respectfully disagree, I put nearly 70 miles on it today (much of it on the freeway in strong side-winds) and the steering was as responsinve as any other car I have driven (and that includes a subaru outback, nissan armada, vw new beetle, olds cutlass sierra, and a variety of rental cars)

Also, with the side winds, I was worried about the car being blown around on the freeway (which here in NW Ohio, I-75 is two lanes in both directions through 60+ miles of flat, treeless farmland) With winds gusting to 30 miles an hour on my drive back to Bowling Green from Findlay, I found that the Prius handled fine. I did not experience any of the wild handling problems I have seen others describe on these fourms.

The keyless entry and start up kicks butt and is very convenient (although I still find myself reaching to the steering column to turn a key!)

And now some initial first day photos!

Better Red than dead I always say. Aren't they beautiful! Lots of ideas on this site on how to spruce them up tool. Removing the wheel beauty rings was a great first step for me. AND FREE.

    Max Smart....

I like the idea of your front license plate and can't agree more.........

I'm in the military and can't wait until my friends (they are serving in Balad at the combat hospital there) come home this month....this has been a bad month for casualities.

Am I the only one who likes the look of the wheels??? I honestly have not yet found anything about my prius that I do not absolutely love...

    Now for a new photo...

My frst 5-minute 100+MPG average... I have discovered how to get from the interstate to my parking lot downtown without using gas (if I time the traffic lights right at least...)
    [attachmentid=2990]

I will try to take some more "beauty shots" of the car, I had taken a lot already but took them in ultr high res and the photos are waaay to big to post here.. so I have to take them all over again...
