Hello to all here. Tomorrow Im buying a C but unsure of getting the one or three. I read all the options and all and I have no use for Entune and all those packages like XM. But I do want CC. Also is the NAV in the three free ? That may make it worth to buy this. Im sure after purchase I will have tons more questions however on this forum, there is a lot of good info!

Its not that at all. There are only ones and threes at the dealer we are at. Im not getting it in NYC but in the TX/OK area and that's all the choices there are there. So only a choice between the one and three and sticking with that dealer because out of 5 of them, they gave an awesome trade in price.
I should have mentioned we are buying this in NYC but in TX/OK areas. Also is that Navigation a free service? As I said, not interested in Entune and all, just want CC and Smart Key and NAV (if its free) Cant see getting a one and using a key and no CC though. About 3k more for a three. Thanks for the reply.
Don't know your exact Dealership, but you stated area is the Gulf State Region, which has many C2s. In the DFW area we have them. Don't rely on you Dealerships in-house inventory to make your choice. They will get you the one you want or go with another Dealership. Dealer trades are done daily.
For the record I has used two different Toyota Dealerships in DFW and they both did Dealer trades to get what I wanted. PM if you want more help.
Ok thanks! I will talk to wife but we went to many and the trade in price and deal for the one up near OKC was really great so may go with that. I wish they had twos there, there are things on the three I would use and some I wont so to pay 3k diff for these things is something we need to check into. As I said I cant live with no CC/Smart Key but can live without Entune and such. I will take you up on the PM if need be. Thanks again
Tell them to get you a C2. Usually takes 1 to 3 days depending on where and what. I show quit a few they can trade to get and you still get your deal with them. Here's a random for OKC. Will check in later tonight if you need it.
Wow they have a lot at that one, better choices for sure. I will ask the wife about going up there tomorrow before buying. Thanks again frodoz. We actually bought our trade in there in TX in the SAT area.
I just left dealer and chose the C3. Of course on the way out a bit hit a huge pothole....! urrrghhh... Anyways loving the car so far! Tested out the Gen111 and this and I liked the C for needs best. Was a very nice deal as well. For my trade I only had to pay 1400 to them. Im sure I will have MANY questions now that I have this car!
That's great you got the 3. I got a 1 for cheap (so I can't really complain). But man.... Toyota really cut some corners.....no rear speaker (not even wired for speakers). Can't put a baggage cover, so groceries are in the open..and no engine sound deadening. If you can afford a3 go for it. The little car is fun though... turn the ac off and go through some turns with the Windows down and in electric mode... it's a super golf cart
hehe yes a super golf cart is it. But I do like it so far but only been a few hrs. Im still reeling I hit a pothole, hope no damages. Yes the one was ok but I liked the 3 a bit more. So I had to fork out some $ to get it - otherwise the trade would be totally almost even. Still seems like a good choice. Only 22 miles so far but I like it. I think the power is fine, for me, I took on the freeway as a test and it seemed ok. Is there a way to have the remote open ALL four doors and not just the front one? I went thru the setup screen and didnt see that option. Of course I havent even opened the manual yet, too much fun playing with the car! lol
Ok I will do that and thank you! BTW, is there a way before I go thru the massive owners manual to change the opening of the doors with the remote to 4 doors? thanks.
just double-click the open button to do all 5 doors. also if you use the key, just unlock it twice to do the same thing
You know that you can just grab the driver's door handle to unlock the car, right? Well, you can also set it to unlock all doors - here's the section from the manual: Not mentioned there is that you can open the hatch with the fob in your pocket, and that also unlocks all the doors. And it's easy to miss the small button to the right (when you're standing behind the car) of the hatch contact pad - this locks all the doors. Now you have the car you should edit your profile to list it as a Three - makes answering questions more reliable!
Plastic instead of fabric on the sides in the back is what sold me on the 2, because dogs. CC is nice, and my iphone has nav so I didn't feel the need for anything more.
Thanks for the info on the doors/locking. Will try that yoday. Will also update profile. Just left dealer to check after the wonderful pothole I hit after buying the car. All checked out fine. Had a nice lengthy chat on regen/brakes with the service guys. I like the car a lot. Wife was kinda upset didnt get the Gen111 which was only 670.00 more. Too big, prefer smaller.
Enjoy the c3. I test drove one back when I was deciding whether to get a prius c, and I was interested in it, but the dealership wouldn't budge on the price too much despite it being a 2012 model in March 2013. Another dealership offered to sell me a 2012 c3 for $500 less than the lowest the first dealer offered, but ultimately I chose a c4 that a third dealership had. The fog lights and heated seats/mirrors are very useful in SE Wisconsin. The GPS navigation is free, as is Entune (other than whatever data usage you pay for on your smartphone), but it's really limited compared to a dedicated GPS unit, and I usually don't bother using Entune. That said, it's also really nice to have one built into the car just in case you forget your phone or the battery is low/no service. Watch this video, keep it under your favorites on youtube and watch it from time to time. Though Bob Wilson (a regular poster on these forums) is talking about a Gen 3 prius in the video, almost everything he mentions (aside from a "power" mode button) applies to a c as well. You really can hit 60 mpg on average in the warmer months (expect 41-47 mpg in the wintertime on average) if you utilize these techniques.
