Ok the plug I marked in the photo above is for CD Changer/Navigation add-on apparently. I research for some Navigation add ons and I can see two: Rostra - the expensive one ($1,000+) Car-solutions ($600 aprox) + need to cut wires Both have to modified the existing Corolla/Highlander monitor in order to use the touch screen interface. Seriously I better buy the PC3/4 Radio with the price above. Unless someone will do something.
I bought it from a guy who sells it on his site ae64.com Be sure to instruct him to put in the wires for camera power (+ and gnd)...and since we have a C1-C2, we don't really need the e-brake passthrough.
i just want the harness lol. why not post the price? maybe do like a group buy discount or something?
I look some videos on how to do it and isn't a easy mod at all, and I worry if something goes bad when open the radio and replacing ribbons and other sensible stuff. but at the end you can use the navigation via touch screen.
wow that's a lot of work/stress for something that I use once in a blue moon...and I have my phone with offline map apps for that once in a while need to navigate to somewhere unknown
will that harness work for the c1? since the c1 doesnt have any reverse signal at the radio. i expect your harness to have the rca cable, 5v power + and - and then reverse signal cable?
The reverse signal wire doesn't go into the same 16pin harness as the reverse camera wires...So I doubt jttores will be selling both a 28pin harness and the 16pin backup camera harness for $35. Either way, it's really easy to just run a 2-3feet wire from the 28pin #2 pin hole to the reverse signal wire(s) under the knee panel...and if he did have a 28pin harness to have a reverse signal wire going out of it...you'd still have to take that wire and run/tap it to the reverse signal wire(s).
thanks! so his 16pin should have camera input and then the camera power cables? so 3 wires? and i would just put a pin into the 28 plug that is the reverse signal correct? so if i simply get a 12v power and put a switch and then the other end of the wire to the 28 plug, i can have rear camera anytime?
JT Torres is the best! I purchased a 2012 corolla radio on ebay last week and bought his dash kit. His dash kit works so well for these stock Toyota radio's and matches the surrounding plastic perfectly. It was also very simple to install. My only complaint is the corolla radio has orange back lit buttons. It isn't much of a problem but I would have preferred to have the green back lit buttons from the highlander radio. That way it would have matched the back lighting of the climate control screen.
I actually liked the orange backlit, since it adds a little difference and uniqueness in my taste, lol
no, you can also get any metra or any kit to install an aftermarket radio in the prius c. JTs kit was our choice because his finish was the same as the cars finish where as the other options are just flat paint.
