Hi guys, my 04 finally showed the p0A93 code so, I've been doing some research.

Luscious Garage did a tutorial and took out the inverter water pump, but when I checked mine, I didn't see a water pump like theirs; only the coolant control.

What's the difference between the coolant control and the inverter water pump? Thanks for the help.

The inverter coolant pump circulates coolant in the inverter/transaxle coolant loop. It is located behind the driver's headlight assembly. Your second photo shows an inverter coolant pump which is not mounted to the shiny metal bracket which comes with the pump and attaches to the pump base.

The engine coolant valve can switch engine coolant flow between the cabin heater core and the coolant heat recovery system canister.

DTC P0A93 means that the inverter cooling system has failed. Usually that is because the inverter coolant pump died, and this can be verified by looking for fluid turbulence in the inverter coolant reservoir when the Prius is IG-ON or READY. If you don't see this then the pump is not working or there is air trapped in the system.

The inverter coolant pump was the subject of a recent Limited Service Campaign, which expired in November 2013.

So, I would have to replace the pump of the first photo?

The first photo shows a valve, not a pump. That valve is in the engine coolant loop and has nothing to do with P0A93.

The second photo shows the correct inverter coolant pump, the only issue is that particular pump happens to not be mounted to the metal bracket. When you buy the correct pump, it will come with a bracket.

Okay. I get it now. Where is the inverter water pump located then? Is it near the valve also?

So if there is turbulence inside the inverter Reservoir does that mean it's working or it's not working?

Turbulence means the inverter coolant pump is working.
