Just watched and she chased down a suspect (she's a detective) in a Genlll taken from a used car lot.

Was a pretty funny scene you'll have to see.

She gets into it and didn't know how to turn it on. "How do I turn the car on without a key" she asks. lol.

At the end of the scene she slams on the brakes and the regen braking sound is clearly heard as the Prius nearly body slams the terrified suspect as she tells him, "The brakes are spongy", etc.

There was a Chris Rock movie (Ride Along?) where Ice T goes to chase a suspect and the first car the valet brings up is a Prius...which he passes over.

I thought it was a stupid scene because the majority on in-city vehicle pursuits don't exceed 45 mph because of the constant need to turn and brake. Big and fast means nothing, and the vast majority of drivers don't know how to push any vehicle (even their own) to 90% of what it's capable of doing.

Of course, you want to plow through stuff, and still be able to drive it, I'd not try it with a Prius.

I watched it for a little while and also noticed the Prius police cars, with lights and all. Or was that "Chicago PD"? Maybe. Only watched each for a few minutes.

Let's not forget "Under the Dome" where a plug-in Prius is used in several scenes. Of course, Toyota is a sponsor.

^ Microsoft too, and accordingly, every time an email gets through the dome, windows 8 makes an appearance.

Ride Along was Kevin Hart and Ice Cube! LOL!!!

I love the movie "The Other Guys". So hilarious, I became interested in a Prius because of that movie. :D Lot of "performance scenes" of the Prius.

For those who missed this episode and were interested, NBC is repeating the show tonight at 8pm/7c.

It's only a minute scene in the first half hour of the hour show.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Im sure the wife and I will get a chuckle out of it. She had the same reaction when she first got into the car.

I totally love the scene though it's short and she called the car a lemon (it's from a used car lot and she's directing the comment to the salesman she chased with the Prius)

I think the scenes length is perfect and effective though if I didn't own a Prius I'd probably not like it as much but the fact that the director chose to use a Prius is very interesting.

I have it on DVR and edited it so I can just watch that scene if I wanted to re watch it. Makes me lol.

Listen to the howling of the regen when the car is coming to a complete stop nearly slamming into the suspect.

Should be far fewer drivers wondering how to turn on Prius considering Civic EX, Accord EX, Altima S and I'm sure many more (to come also) have push button start. I'd think push button start will start to take over.

I'd think it's more likely the prius is a "product placement", basically an embedded commercial.

Funny story. When I went to go test drive my first Prius, even though my mom had leased a couple in the past, I could not get the damned thing to turn on. The radio would come on and the car would beep at me but it wouldn't let me shift into drive. After a couple of minutes with the salesperson just as incredibly confused as I was, I realized that you had to be pressing on the brake and then press POWER. So you can probably file me under that group of people that couldn't turn on a Prius if they needed to chase someone down... :p

I remember renting a Dodge RAM to haul a motorcycle home after the stator failed.

The truck came with a regular key (for the door), but the rental agent didn't explain that you stick the funky-looking end of the key fob into that over sized ignition key hole (which also could hold the regular key) and use the fob to turn the ignition. Here I am in the summer heat of Mississippi in black motorcycle leathers in a overheating truck cab trying to figure out how to get the stupid engine to start. Fortunately I had cell reception and the rental agent gave me his cell phone number.

A push button would have been simpler to figure out.
