    Hello,

I just got a Factory Nav Radio from a member, thanks him so much.

I plug everything in and the HD Radio, Radio, GPS (After market antenna) works. But I wonder which wires I am missing perhaps on Plug 7 or else where that I need to connect manually to get information update on TRIP and ENERGY CONSUMPTION display in the radio, right now they are all not updating. If it is just a few wire, I don't mind adding it and tapping into a harness under the dash.

Hey that's my photo, je,je just kidding.
How much you invest in the navi with everything else??? Just Curious.
Do you have an PC1 or PC2?

Do you have the cable tha goes from Plug # 11 to Plug # 3 & #6 (Y cable).

Also do you install backup camera??? (Plug # 1)

    I have a PC2 and I do have Plug #11 to Plug 3 and #6 Y Cable.

    I have 13 wire in Harness 7...

I haven't buy the backup camera yet so I don't have the single wire going into Plug 1.

Things working are GPS, Entune, HD Radio, Radio, USB/Aux, steering wheel control, Bluetooth etc.

    Only problems

    1) CAR Trip and Energy Status may need wire.

I check the Technical site and on Harness 7 it said G78-9 (CANH) Color BE "CAN Communication Signal" and G78-10 (CANL) Color W "CAN Communication Signal" are only difference and looks like it is feeding in the information. I also look at the Speedometer Cluster diagram harness and it has 2 Wire label G1-31 CANH and G1-32 (CANL)that as well, it looks like if I tap into and connect these two it should work. Anyone please confirm if this is what it means.

thanks for this, now I'm clear that the voice command button can be used on a PC2 for future Aftermarket Head Units, and the mic wires id for the mic Mod.

Looks like they are prewire to the radio and harness since it uses different voltage for the wire. I believe we just need to find and add the voice command switch in the steering column.

Installed the PC3/4 steering wheel pads on my PC2 and the only thing that doesn't work are the trip and display buttons, for the Voice Command button not sure since I don't have a HU yet.

BTW the wiring from the PC3/4 has more wire compared to PC2.

Must changed it since both pad wiring connectors are diferent between PC3/4 and PC2, and you connot unplug and connect back to the other plugs.

I need to verify if open the pad and replace only the VC button works, but since I see more wires and some goes from left to right pad, I don't think so.

The left PC3/4 use 6 wiring connector and the PC2 only use 4.

    YES, came from a PC4.

That's what I lost since the wiring should work with all models, but apparently not.

Open the Steering wheel pad where the voice command is to see how it look inside:

    IMG_4137.JPG IMG_4138.JPG IMG_4139.JPG IMG_4140.JPG IMG_4141.JPG IMG_4142.JPG IMG_4148.JPG IMG_4151.JPG

Now If the PC1/2 has the same 3 pin connector for VC & BT then is up to replace everything on the pad and that's it.

Then there is s 6 pin connector from the left side comparing to what I see of 4 pin connector in the PC2.

Here is a head unit wiring diagram posted before with all connectors, in page 2 the left and right pads goes to Z3(D) connector (12 pin) and recall pins #8, #9, #10 & #11, but I confused because the wiring visually in the photo is a 10 pin connector. So I presume that the wiring diagram is not for Prius C.

Finally reading the info above provide it by VMO168 doesn't mention Connector 78G pin 23 (SWG) and Pin 24 (SW3) showed in the Wiring attached

    Can anyone confirm this????

I recently got a OEM nav unit to upgrade my Prius C 2 to the OEM c3 level, but am now concerned that i have to buy additional wiring to make this work? I know I read that most everything will work minus the Car functions and GPS wire (unless I get a cheap GPS one and make it fit which i will) , but I don't know if I have this Y cable (or is that in all Prius C models with the 6 speakers) that I keep reading about for this unit?

If anyone can shed some further light on the Issue of making the Car button functions (energy/trip) work? I am confused by the wiring lingo....

I am the one who is the first one who make this work.

Not sure where you get the Y cable story from? You do not need a Y cable or anything to make GPS or CAR function work. The Prius C 2 has 6 speakers and C3 and C4 has 6 speaker so there should not be any issue.

Read this post again and it will show you how to do it, assuming you never work or seen a car cable harness before, that will be a learning curve. The second question is Do you know how to cut wires? I am glad to walk you thru. You know how to take off dash trim and screw?

Thanks for the reply and good to know about the Y cable (didnt know that was for the speakers ....but yes I have 6 speakers too so good!)

As far as cutting wires and such no..... I mean I have a general idea, but do I have to go buy wiring somewhere to splice it to go to the nav unit or? I read your post on the codes and wiring colors etc, but was confused, but im sure I can learn.

To answer your last question yes, I do know how to get access to my car's trim and take the panels off yes.

Thank you for the help and assistance appreciate it!!!

I wish I didn't read this thread, I'm really tempted to pick up a C3 Nav head unit for my C2. So everything is plug and play, except GPS and XM and steering wheel voice button? Do the rest of the steering wheel buttons work (such as volume and call answer/hang up)? Does the USB port and microphone for bluetooth calls work plug and play?
