Try putting some of that old STP oil treatment in it. That stuff (have not seen it in years), use to "pour" out of the can like 90 weight oil, or,, cold honey! Talk about thick! I use to use it in my old 1968 Datsun 2000 SRL-311 (02483), which was my first car. Use to wonder if that STP would just drop to the bottom of the crank case, and sit there. Like trying to use honey in a cold drink for sweetener, plop, down to the bottom it goes. It surly did make the valves quieter though, and was said to "slow oil leaks"...(y) Many of my friends would pour a couple cans of that stuff into their old beaters just before selling them,, yup,, worked!! It made em sound so smooth n quiet. Till the next oil change.....

The Lucas oil stabilizer viscosity is similar to the old STP. No thinning effect here, just the opposite.
