spot on. i plug in everyday, sometimes more than once. check out the sticky spreadsheet, you can go thousands of miles on a tank.

430 miles is quite impressive for the non-plug-in experiment. Sounds like that slightly smaller PiP gas tank is not too much of a negative.

Only 100% highway driving do I see >400 miles with our Gen2 flexible "guess" tank.

interesting. my city driving brings great mpg's than highway. i can get 70mpg around town without plugging in, X 8 gallons at the beep is around 560 on the mfd. but on the highway, not even at 55 would i get that.

well, bisco you must try retirement....all your non-highway miles are short trips, in our case we are active grandparents so the soccer thing and all that.

it's a sticky at the top of the forum, the title is 'pip and mpg spreadsheet'. yesterday, i had a trip to the doctor, 15 miles one way. just got there on ev with .1 ev mile left. the return trip in hv produced 69 mpg. half highway @55 mph and half back roads 30-40 mph.

My recent trip up north didn't provide any opportunity for charging. So, I used the battery sparingly the entire time I was there.

46 mpg up and 49 mpg back... which is mighty impressive considering the Prius was fully loaded inside and carrying 2 bikes on back.

When I go long distances, after running out of battery, I get 52-56 mpg. Great ICE.

thursday, i did my usual 75 mile trip to my fathers, but i forgot to plug in. 24 miles of highway at 57mph, balance between 30 and 45 mph, middle of a nor'easter, high winds and driving rain, temp 54 degrees, heat set at 75 manual, 61 mpg on the mfd.
