All I can say is that I will be very, VERY happy to have my prius arrive in a week... I will sleep much more soundly once it is parked in my parking space at night

The waiting lists should grow again with that news. In the long run $3.00 gas will hurt us all but I am so glad I have a Prius. :p

It's our own fault, you know. I'm not sure how yet, but you know that when the gas guzzlers have to pay more than $100/month they will immediately come up with a new scheme explaining how those pesky hybrids are to blame.

A little birdie told me it's the new lower-sulfur standards that
are helping drive prices up. The requirements kicked in April 1,
    didn't they?

I just reread my reply above and noticed that I said, "$100 per month" when I really meant "$100 per week." I'm sure most of them have been paying more than $100 per month for quite some time now.

You know, that would make a *great* Apr 1 joke.
Imagine if all the petrol stations put up 7.66, 7.77, 7.87 pricing on their signs.

The price has been over $3 for a few weeks in San Francisco, but has spread somewhat south in CA to San Jose and my home Cupertino where Premium is pretty consistently $3.01 - 3.04 a gallon for the majors. Reduce the prices by $.10 a gallon each for the other two. I have noticed the drivers are starting to slow down again to increase their gas mileage. Ain't it grand to flash you lights at them to ask THEY move over!

News reports that it is the conversion from MTBE here and use of Ethanol.
Thank you Toyota for the Prius!

By the way, with gas going up again, Prius has come out of the garage and seen rainy streets. Its belly has gotten dirty. I expect the other cars I drive will have dead batteries before they get driven again!

You know, I am only 23, and I can remeber that when I got my license when I was 16 and started driving, I could fill up the subaru outback each week at the Meijer fuel centre in Findlay, Ohio and gas was like 65-70 cents a gallon... those were the days, I could drive all i wanted for only like ten bucks a tank... now im paying 30 bucks to fill up my beetle...

Maybe it's egotism but isn't it strange how we're on cloud nine when gasoline goes over $3.00 a gallon? :p

dude, if I might be allowed that, I can remember when you could cruse from the Big Boy to the McDonnalds all weekend in Lorain Ohio for pocket change. Yes I am older than 23, or 33, or 43 or I am not going there!
