In case any one questions the cargo space of the prius. I was moving the other day, and check out what I fit in my prius.

From various angles, I had about 4 large boxes underneath all that you see in the pics, on top of all that, I had a basket full of laundry, a toster oven, two pairs of shoes, a shower curtain bar, our family photo, and a LOT of junk. there were boxes crammed in the leg room of all passenger seats. amazingly, the only part of my rear vew blocked was the potion underneath the spoiler split in the rear windshiled. I still had a totally unobstructed view above the spoiler, which tells me I probably could've added even more. As it is, I didn't have any noticeable drop in mileage, I thought I'd hit rock bottom, but I still had about 43 mpg . . . Just thought I'd share, I'd contend that a prius can hold its own against any sedan or wagon when it comes to cargo space, and if compared to minivans and SUVs, it aint that far behind, factor in the mileage u get, and we've all got a winner, in my heart at least. :)

I thought you meant because it looks like you're living in the car... :D

Without some type of cargo net, though, you risk injury in a sudden stop. Use care; try to drive at times when the roads are less busy.

I loaded my beetle up like that once when I went to the IKEA in Pittsburgh. I fit a 7 foor bookcase, bedroom armoire, shelves, lights, and some other randomness in the beetle and drove 4 hours back to findlay, Ohio... the folks at IKEA thought that It could not be donw but I proved them wrong.... so if I can fit all that in my beetle, I cannot wait to see what will fit in my prius!

I drove really slowly, abt 55-65 on the freeway, and all my turns and brakes were done VERY gradually, it's true that a sudden brake would've thrusted our family photo in to my head. All's well that ends well

:) I've had to move my brother in and out of his dorm on several occasions. It's been tight, but we've managed to fit his big tv, pc, microwave, fridge, video games & systems, fan, clothes, various articles of crap & 3 people. I also bought a couple of shelving units for my mom for X-mas from IKEA and drove 12 hours with them in my Prius... with the rear & passenger seats down, of course. It still amazes me how much I can cram into such a little car.

I play Bluegrass music with several jam groups and I carry a stand up bass and a guitar around all the time.

The vision that turns heads around here is when my pal and I pull up to my favorite surf spot and unload two 9' longboards from inside the car.
