So I've narrowed my search for a prius down to two cars, they Are both 2012 and have 46,000 miles, but the only difference between the two is one is a trim level 3 and is 15,900 OTD but it was used as a rental in Maryland, and the other one is a trim level 2 for 15,700 OTD but was a local personal owner, I don't really used nav that much and I have my smartphone when I need it, the only thing I like is that is has a better audio system, my main concern is how risky is it to get a used rental car,

For the record while the JBL or JBL/NAV systems (Level III) is only slightly better than the base system, it is still a crappy system. As for previous ownership, it's a given the rental was abused with minimal maintenance...the personally owned unit is still a maybe. Based "only" on the info given...buy the level II with 15,700 miles OTD after having it thoroughly checked out.

agree with frodo ^ stay away from the rental. pkg 3 ain't that special. plan on putting in new audio if you like music.

Do you think a 2012, 46k miles, trim2 with tinted windows, clean one owner carfax, day time lights, I think its blizzard pearl for $15,700 out the door price is a good deal?

Your going to have to do a local search to see what your market demands to answer that one.

agreed. seems reasonable, but all you can do is compare it to what all is out there. what's the best deal you can get on a new leftover '14 pkg 2?

Yep, do some homework. If your credit is good, you may be able to get a 2014 (maybe not the popular colors) for a good price with $0 down and 0% for 72 months. check those figures though, they may have changed!
