I don't get it with my 2008 Prius.
I just fueled up and then started the car and drove like give seconds to the parking place. After shutting down and openinh the door my car started to beep and the key icon was on. Is there some power left on because of the very short drive or what is happening?

The very same happened in summer when I drove to one hour job gig: I was quite early and desided to stay in car and listen some music: I turned to power back on after I turned off the engine and listened music for a few minutes. After that and opening the door the car made same beeping. I just shut the door and locked. After the job gig (1h) I noticed that the battery level was on purple (It was high when I got there).

I didn't find anything on the manual.

check your 12-volt battery first, if it's been over 4 years since you replaced it, go and get a new 12-volt battery.

If your combination meter is going bad or gets hung up the car thinks its moving and won't turn off.

I've experienced this 3 times in the life of my car, but in each case it went away after about 5 minutes. I've read its related to marginal reset timing at power up.

    Car has 155.000km = 100.000miles.

The problem occures only when car has been turn off and then the power is turn on again. After that it does the beeping when door is opened. There are no lights on, the screen is off, no ac, no nothing, so you might think the car is off. But something is left on because that one time the high voltage battery was empty.

I don't see connection with the 12v battery. Although I don't know how old it is. I have had car for six months.

I read that you can turn car off while driving by pushing ignite button for 5 seconds: maybe I'll try that?

This is not every day problem, but something I'd like to know why that is happening.

12v can make odd intermittent things happen electronically, because the computers need a minimum voltage to operate correctly. so, it's worth testing. maybe you have a loose short in a connection or board.

Why would you turn the car off while driving?

    Sorry if being unclear.
What I meant was maybe it´s worth trying to push ignite-button for 5 seconds while on park (as trying to eliminate all power). The manual just said something about if it is neccessary to turn power off while driving.

I will check the 12v battery but I´m afraid I´m not able to do that today or tomorrow. But will check it.

If you guys drive to park then turn off the car and then turn the power on (not the engine) to listen music etc. and then turn power off again and open the door; your car won´t say anything?

And oh yeah my car has the keyless entry. Sorry for not mentioning that earlier.

When you push the power button without having your foot on the brake, it goes into "accessory mode". Here you can listen to the radio without the engine starting, but don't listen for too long or the small 12V battery will go flat.

When you've finished with accessory mode and you want to turn the car off you need to press the power button twice in sequence. The Prius cycles through three modes when you press the power button (without brake pressed). "Off" -> "Accessory" -> "Ignition on" -> "Off".

Yes, and that I did last summer when this first occured.
Yesterday it did the same when I simply drove from gas pumping spot to 5 meters/yards to gas station´s parking place, then turned car off and opened the door. Yesterday I didn´t even turn the power back on.

How long have you owned the car? Does it have a clean title or is it a salvage title.

Given the size of the little 12 volt battery its unwise to sit in the car in accessory mode.
Just leave the car in ready.

And lastly how many times have u had to jump start the car? And have u ever had to
    Replace the key fob battery?

    I have owned car for six-seven months now. Driven 20.000km / 14.000miles.
Authorized dealer stamps on the book and no known damage. Bought from local Toyota dealer.

I have never jump started the car nor have I replaced the key fob battery.

I will check the 12v battery voltage level on day after tomorrow. It was checked on the service three months (this beeping while door is open did happen first time before that) ago but I´ll give it a look.

And after that one time when car waited an hour in this "power on" -mode, or what ever happened, the HIGH VOLTAGE battery was low. I never have had problems with the 12v battery.

The only time my Prius "beeps" at me when exiting, is those rare occasions that for some reason I am exiting the vehicle and haven't powered it down.

In both those incidences are you sure the vehicle was powered down completely?

I rarely use accessory mode. Those few times when I want to sit in my Prius and listen to the radio, I just put in in park, set the brake and leave it powered on.

IMO accessory mode just too quickly drains the battery. If I leave it powered up, the engine may stop/start as necessary, but at least I'm not putting strain on the battery.

From this description it sounds like you press the START button once with your foot off the brake, which puts your car in ACC-ON mode. To reiterate what Uart said, in order to power down the car from ACC-ON mode you need to press the START button twice with your foot OFF the brake. From what you have said it sounds like, from ACC-ON mode, you are trying to power down the car by pressing the START button once with your foot ON the brake, which actually puts the car in READY mode.

I only get the beep when I leave the fob in the slot (I don't have SKS) with the car in READY and then open the door.

    hope this helps.

I really need to do some more testing. I know it cycles in three modes and I'm pretty sure I did press the third time. But why would it do the same after I fueled up and drove to park? Accidenly press power twice?

I'm very busy at work now and commute by bike so I'll get back to this in a few days.
