Went out and started up the Package #9 Prius this morning. Tried to adjust the volume once I got moving. Neither the volume control on the stereo or the controls on the wheel would work. All other sound controls (bass, treble, fade, etc) wouldn't work. I could power the stereo on and off, change cds, change to the radio, change the radio stations, etc without problem. Once I got to my destination, I powered the car off, then back on. The problem went away.

Any thoughts as to what that could be?

you essentially 'pushed the reset button'. my current buick has a heads-up display that also needs that once in a while. it's what we get for having so much computer stuff in the car.

Yea, this quirk has been pretty widely reported previously. Haven't heard any good solutions other than what you did...power down and restart. If it becomes a common problem I'd take it to the dealer, I suspect they could fix it somehow.
