Hey Prius Gen III owners! I recently just purchased my 2010 Prius and the first mod I did was add new projectors/HID's. Upon ordering this kit I did not get the relay harness that a lot of people on here say we need, and I personally could not find a direct yes or no to whether we need this or not, so the answer is no. If someone would like to chime in please feel free! I've used my headlights for a total of 2 hours so as of now, no issues!

I also would like to add I drove my car around with my headlights out to see if a bulb out warning would come on and nothing. Also, if we add LED's to turn signals will this create a hyper flash? Thanks!

I did not use relay/ harness kit on my 2015 Prius. They work and no issues at all.

Yes you need relay to prevent hyper flash when installing LEDs for turn signals.

Thanks, reason I ask is when I had my car apart, and used turn signals on it didn't hyperflash but I do not know...

    Still no issues? (Hopefully)
I'm about to install HIDs too. I bought the relay harness just in case, but theres really no install relay guide for the Prius.

You will be fine it seems to be only Chrysler/German cars that need a relay harness, and I couldn't tell you where or how to install it.

It has been a headlamp wiring issue on MY 2010 vehicles, these are in need of the relay harness.
On our 2011 and 2012 PiP, I installed the HID's with the relay harness regardless.
I does make a better and proper install.

Thanks for your responses. I kinda figured out how to install them. Just waiting on the actual HIDs to come in. :D

So I properly installed my HIDs, but I couldn't install my relay harness. I have no idea how to open the little lid that covers the positive battery connection in the fuse box. Can anyone help with how this is done?

Just connect your power wire to one of the two open terminals at the rear of the fuse box, where the two red wires are in the pic below. It's much easier to use them, just use a quarter inch push on terminal:

In the pic, you can also see the positive bolt you are trying to get to for power. If I recall correctly, you have to use a small screwdriver to pry the clip that holds the cover on to access the bolt.

Thanks! I'll try that. I spent about 20 minutes before giving up. Maybe the philips screw driver wasn't small enough.

OK, this is my positive connector. How can I get it to connect to one of these terminals?

You would have to cut the ring terminal off and replace it with a quarter inch push on terminal. Or you could leave the ring terminal on and put it under the bolt.

So my relay setup worked. This is how I zip tied it. Anyone see any possible issues?

Your pic isn't showing up for me on either my smartphone (Tap a Talk) or PC (Chrome).

Keep the wiring away from heat sources like the radiator or exhaust manifold, or moving parts (fans), and you should be good.

I don't think it's covering anything that you mentioned (or at least I hope not).
