I meant overall just to add a brake flasher module to my 3rd brake tail light seems like a lot of work. Removing numerous interior pieces, special tools, splicing wires, etc. I'm not a handy guy and frankly I hate working on my Car. Also dropping the $10 + shipping and hoping the module does not break or malfunction hitting bumps in the road. Imagine it stops working then your brake light is completely down and not even working? Taking apart the back inside and sending said product back to the vendor? Not to mention any car is a devalued purchase, like women, once you buy it (or marry it) , you never recoup your money. Bottom line, I was thinking initially the mod would be easy to install, simple and cheap.

    One Word: HASSLE !!!!!!

On the contrary, it's very simple and there are tips all over the internet on how to do it. Maybe one of the easiest mods I've made to my vehicles. I didn't go to the trouble to solder and heat-shrink as sfprankster did, but it works just the same. At $5 apiece, I think they're invaluable. All the same precautions regarding local light laws mentioned above prevail. Caveat modder.

OK...you're probably right. You should refrain.

UPDATE: These flashers are clearly not a foolproof method for avoiding accidents. Case in point - my son got his Frontier pickup rear-ended last week on the local highway. Thankfully, no one hurt - just three vehicles.

The numbnuts who hit him said something like "Sorry son, when I looked up, you were right there." Don't know what the guys was looking at but it wasn't the road. Probably hit him at 30 mph on a 55 mph highway. So maybe the flasher lights got his attention quicker than normal lights would have. Perhaps he would have hit my son's truck harder without it...or not. We'll never know. Knocked him into the SUV in front of him and totaled the truck, so now I'm shopping for another vehicle and will probably have to drop another $5K above the insurance payout just to get him in a comparably reliable vehicle.

Anyway, I'm gonna continue to put these flashers on my vehicles.
