    Hi everyone!

We bought a used 2012 Prius Two with 57,400 miles for $16,000 + $73 DMV fees + tax for a total price of $17,513. We have 10 days to test drive it and we can return it if we change our minds. We purchased it from a new startup/ online dealer. I thought it was fairly-priced (not the best deal but then again it was a no-haggle price), they don't have hidden fees, they deliver the car to you, the car is meticulously inspected by a mechanic and you can see what exactly was checked and they provide a 3 month warranty. Haggling is not our strong suit and so negotiating with a dealer is somewhat terrifying. One thing that concerns me is the mileage.. is 57,400 miles on a 2012 Prius Two too high? My husband has a 30 mile roundtrip daily commute. The other option was Hertz Rent2Buy but while it is an excellent price, it takes more time and more of a hit or miss. Also, we are in northern California.

    Thank you so much!

    Hello and welcome.

Yeah, sadly I have to say I do think you overpaid and by quite a bit.

I mean it's now a 5 yr old car with almost 60k miles... For only $4000 +\- the cost of a brand new leftover prius 2...

If your willing to spend that much and they really will let you return it within 10 days, look into a leftover, plus toyota has the 0% for 60 months going for both the 14's and 15's now.

21-22k is about right for a leftover 2, as long as no trade is involved to skew the numbers. FYI

Edit: is this a 2010 as stated in your post or a 2012 as stated in the title?

If it's a 2012 it makes the deal a little better I guess. 2010 heck no.

welcome! sounds like the right car for you, and 57,000 is nothing on a prius. you have 10 year 150,000 mile warranty on the hybrid components in cali. all the best!(y)

    I'm confused. Is it a 2010? Or a 2012?
    You mention both . . .
