Advertising $4k off Prius in my area. I didn't hear any restriction on the model though what you find at a dealer is up to the dealer. Expecting truth in advertising is expecting too much.

It was a good deal back at the end of Dec, '14. I bought one of the new leftover 14 v threes (with an Oct. '14 Japan build-date, strangely enough. The car was in the US less than 3 months before I got it).

Anyway, I got over 6100.00 off MSRP-- because they were trying to sell off the 14 v models, it was the end of '14, and gas prices had plummeted in CA. In fact, I visited the NorCal coast several weeks after purchase and found a "coastal" Mobil gas station selling regular-grade fuel for 1.99 per gallon!

Now, however, west coast inland prices are back up to 3.00+ a gallon and are expected to continue increasing with summer-blend fuel formulations. So, the generous discounts offered by Toyota-- only a couple of months ago-- may get tossed out as gas prices rise and potential Prius customers return to dealers for more economical cars.
