Cloth cover for console

    Anyone know how durable the cloth covering is long term? Do any of you cover it with something else to stretch out its life? If so, what?

    The primary reason I used one of these on my Yukon is to cut down reflection from bright overhead sun into the windshield which reduces contrast and visibility. I found a nice black one at the dealership which I have had on my Yukon for 6 years and it still looks like new.

    Be sure not to get one with the open ended nylon fibers - they reflect the light back into the windshield like a thousand little stars - making it worse than before. Make sure you get the closed loop kind.

    I noticed the black patterned surface on the 2006 is too reflective and have considered getting one of these for the Prius to improve daytime visibility.

    When I got the GT Seatcovers for the front, they came with a cover.

    Mine started getting gummy and sticky where my arm rested on it from sweat and sunscreen in the summer. My wife bought me a leather cover from an ebay store (www.priushoods.com), and I really like it. She also got me the door armrest covers, but I don't like them very much.

    Since I use the console as an armrest I was very concerned about the life of that cloth? So I bought a leather cover. I bout it on eBay for about $29 and it fits very well and is tight and now I don't worry about the cloth. I may get arm rests also but they are $79. for four!
