Hello - I bought a 2015 Prius 4 in January and so far am loving it. (y) At the end of each trip it gives me what I call the "report card" where it tells me the duration, distance, average MPG, and Cost per gallon (if I remember right) - the cost has always been $0.00 (I wish gas was free!!). On some of the fuel efficiency graphs, there are costs, but they are all $0 as well. I have filled it up several times since purchasing it, but cannot figure out how to get the fuel costs in there. What am I missing?

    Thanks!

Did the dealer forget to include the manual?

Any mpg numbers the car tells you tend to be optimistic, anywhere between 5 and 10 %, depending on variations in fill up. I wouldn't rely on in it to any degree; start a spread sheet instead?

He never said he wanted to rely on the feature, he simply asked how to set it!

    And

He was asking about the fuel costs / saving monthly graph not the mpg graph...

I think both fuel cost / savings is a wonderful feature as it reminds me daily of how much $$ I was blowing with that HEMI.

    :)

Op- Mendel is correct re. The cars displayed MPG being 5-10% optimistic. Normally closer to 7% or so I've noticed.

lol, you're right. I've put almost 200 miles on the Prius, and I've still got 3/4 tank left. In my old malibu, it'd be getting really close to time to full up again. I'm loving this.

I do that stuff the old fashioned way, I use Fuelly, and over time it is very accurate.

I actually did review the manual before posting my question but could not find reference to it. Sorry to have been such a bother, thought maybe people might be willing to help me figure it out.

I actually do not see a "display" button on my radio/touchscreen as the other person suggested either.... so I am just going to give up on this "feature" and log out of this site. Way to welcome a new owner!!

    C'mon, don't storm off.

Using the car's displays for anything accurate is pretty useless anyway, with the way Toyota insists on padding the mpg. Just fill up the same way every tank, keep your receipts, run the numbers with pen and paper, calculator, spreadsheet, whatever. You'll have more accuracy, and the whole thing won't go down the drain every time the car's 12 volt battery is disconnected.

And oh yeah: if you want a more automated method, Fuelly and the like are good. Personally I run the numbers myself, then enter in Fuelly, just as a backup, and because it has pretty graphs, comparisons, and you can do things like add this icon below.

DISPLAY button is on your steering wheel. Directly above the TRIP button.

Sit in your car in the drivers seat and look down. It's right infront if you.
