I have been taking my 2014 Prius to the dealership for the free oil changes you get with the Toyota Care Warranty for 25,000 miles I'm on my last oil change on this warranty. After this I will have to start buying the oil changes at the dealership.Any one know were a place that is reasonable in price for oil changes for the Prius. I live in NJ Update: Had my oil change done on 3-10-15 they offered me an extended Toyota care service for $299.00 they said I have time before my car hits 30,000 miles to purchase it.They said I can pay installment payments for 5 months or choose to pay in full.

Understand that my MS dealership will not match prices with NJ, Oil change, tire rotation and the bazillion point inspection is $57

My local Toyota dealership has a service package that includes 3 oil changes, inspections and tire rotations for $150 (for synthetic). Its only $75 for conventional. This beats the price of my local mechanic, and friend of the family, who I have been going to for years by a long shot. Kind of unfortunate really...

    Keep going to your friend.

He or she will at least not try to sell you maintenance that you do not need or fix things that aren't really broken.

Sounds advice indeed. He has helped me out a lot in the past, so once the 3 oil changes are taken care of, I will switch over. Sometimes hard to justify difference in cost, but I know it's worth it in the end.

i went to the dealer for the 2 free changes. they overfilled by almost a quart each time, and tried to sell me services no car needs at 25,000 miles. now i go to the local gas station.

    AND......?????

I don't think that is such a good deal.
Especially if it only includes 3 oil changes and tire rotations.

Another 25000 miles of toyota care would mean only 2 more oil changes (1 every 10k, but tire rotations and topping fluids and the "inspections" every 5k) just like the original toyota care...

Not a bad deal but can probably save a few bucks paying for each service Seperatly and looking for coupons. It's up to you if you want to pay up front and forget about it...

OP, if possible, you might want to DIY, for at least one oil change, just to see what's been going on behind the scenes. What you might find:

    1. Broken/missing under panel fasteners.
    2. Broken oil change access door "hinge".
    3. Over torqued (or rounded, damaged) oil filter housing.
    4. Over torqued (or rounded) drain bolt.
    5. MISSING oil filter element.

It's a lease so I'm not worried about that stuff.I have exactly two more years on this lease and it's turned back in to Holman Toyota then I'm either looking at a generation 4 Prius or the restyled Tacoma

Oops, you put your reply in the wrong place.

If their "deal" includes only 2 services, you are losing $125.
If it is 3 services, you still lose $38.

This is why it is important to know EXACTLY what is included in this "deal".
If they don't provide some KY jelly, I'd pass.
