I'm considering getting an iPhone mount for my 2015 PIP - can anyone recommend a good one?

This or something like it: Amazon

I have tried all sorts of phone mounts and nothing comes close to this variety.

ProClip - expensive, but usually very nice (see link in my signature below)

Personally I love a mount that is extremely easy to grab the phone as well as put it on. Everyone I've shown my magnetic mount to just absolutely loves it and most of them have bought one. And those that have bought one love it too.

I just ordered the Macally MCUP. I'll tell you if it's any good or not when I get it.

The CD slot one wouldn't work for me because the CD slot is behind the display.

I had one that fit in the cup holder but found it gradually got to the point where the base wouldn't hold its position. You turn the top part while it is in the cup holder, until it locks into place.
I now use a Ram Mount that fastens to the inboard seat anchor on the passenger side. It has a sturdy flexible rod that puts the phone next to the center console. My phone clip will also accommodate a GPS unit, and swivels and locks in place. You pick the clip that works with your phone. Check Amazon for the Ram No Drill Floor Mount. I tried to copy and paste the link, couldn't get it to work.

How far can the passenger seat be moved forward while still maintaining compatibility with the Ram mount? We need to keep the front seat somewhat forward (which is OK for my 5'2" wife) since otherwise the rear-facing car seat behind it wouldn't fit.

I have the Prius Plug-in with the Canadian Technology package, which is similar to the US Advanced package. I believe the CD/DVD setup for both is the same for both those packages, but the setup in mine has the CD slot behind the screen. When you want to insert/eject a CD, the entire screen moves out of the way.

I've tried several solutions. Cupholder adapters, goose neck clip that suction cups to window and weighted surfaces on dash. The ideck inserted into the cassette deck was very good. Each one is better than the last. Last one was spring grip to air vent: this is THE perfect place for the phone, right next to the display screen at arms length. Current best uses a magnetic disk that slips into the back of the case. I am happy to sell you any of my old ones cheap!

Here is the Prius Plug-in Advanced CD eject. The video shows the CD slot located behind the screen, and how it's accessed. Skip to the 4:35 mark.

I can still move the passenger seat all the way forward when needed with no interference, and it doesn't bother passenger knees either.

I can still move the seat about 5-6 inches forward. You bend the aluminum rod and it will stay in that position. Actually there is an arc in mine in order to get it where the phone is in the position I want next to the console. It just takes a few minutes to install, so when we take a road trip in our Lexus I can switch it over.
You may want to get a longer bolt, but it works okay with the original.
