I'm in trouble. i popped off the wheel covers and put some center caps on. it definitely looks better this way than the wheel covers, but they look so tiny. Now I want some bigger wheels. gotta start a search for some on the cheap.

I saw someone with a Blizzard Peal do that and I didn't like the look at all, that's why my covers are still on. :)

I do t think I'd like it on a light color, but winter gray with tint, and I kinda like it. Who knows, I may end up putting the covers back on because they very obviously are not a finished wheels.

you can sand them slightly and finish them with any color wheel paint. i did that on my son's car using rustoleum steel color and clearcoat and the scratched up rims look like new. i personally can't stand black wheels. the stock platinum rims in my 2010 one looks great IMHO.

Well, covers are back on. Wife makes fun of the car already, which I don't care about, but she agrees that they don't look good with just the painted 15" wheels, so I'll live with them covered, or I'll find a set of 17" prius wheels.

Tell the wife that you are going to spend ALL the money you save on booze. If she doesn't appreciate your sacrifice in buying a Prius.

The yellow triangle symbol on the multi information display, it can mean big trouble somewhere in the system.

So let me see if I understand, you don't like good mileage and want to get larger wheels so you can drop your mileage? ;)

I leave the covers off. They make it hard to clean the wheels properly, and living where there is salt and sand on the roads, that can lead to wheel corrosion. I use the "hub caps" instead of the wheel covers.

Prius stock 15" wheels are quite light, and you won't find "cheap" light wheels to replace them with. That will drop mileage. Even the Prius stock 17" wheels are quite a bit heavier and drop mileage.

That's pretty much how come we got the one with 17" rims. Walking around the lot, slowly realizing all the other levels have these *%%$# wheel covers, it was "say what??".

The only way I can see this, it must be Mr. Toyoda's design decision. :ROFLMAO:

Ya know, Toyota seems to only consult Prius / hybrid lovers when making a new Prius and I'll bet most of them said wheelcovers are A ok.

I don't like any Prius factory wheels, so if the covers give me an extra mpg or so, I'll leave them on until I find a wheel I like. I'll probably have to break down and move to 17" wheels/tires though, 15" sidewalls just look so huge against the Blizzard Pearl. I kind of liked the look from one owner who dipped his 15" wheels white, though I think 17" would have looked better there too.
