Hello everyone. I'm a 25 year old single male looking forward to purchasing a new car sometime in the summer. I am coming from a base 2011 Chevrolet Cruze A/T with Connectivity package (bought new, paid off). My commute is about 60/40 highway. To work, it's 35 miles (55km) one way. Small trips here and there during the weekend. Since I've own the Cruze, my MPG's been around 28-30. Marred by recalls, I simply grew bored of the car. Car's been surprisingly solid, I'll give it that.

I'll take a hit in horsepower and space (compact to subcompact) but hopefully that makes up for the awesome mileage, reliability and kit that comes with it.

I've always been interested in fuel economy. Heck, I've tracked my fuel economy on Fuelly since delivery of the Cruze. Thus, my heart is set on the Prius C. The regular Prius is a tad out of my price range. Looking forward in owning a Pc with Tech package (Canada) but I gotta wait a bit. For now, a little more research and lurking. Hope I don't change my mind!

Good for you not rushing in and spending more than you can realistically afford.

Part of being responsible is considering USED vehicles too.

You often can save thousands on a good used vehicle.......if you are careful and a little bit lucky.

I love our C for in-town and short trips; don't love it quite so much on the highway but that's mostly my old bones creaking.

Thank you for your comment. Yes I am also considering used, now that youve brought it up. There are various 2012 liftbacks available (Toyota certified) that I'm looking into as well that are within my price range. Low mileage too. These things are reliable as heck, aren't they?

    In general, yes.
Beware of buying from and individual seller though as a scant few do have serious problems.
