I've heard of something like Toyota Technical Services or something like that where you pay a nominal fee to access all diagrams the technicians use.

    Good luck!

theres a 97 Ford Falcon on the block here so I went out to have a look at the seats today
while Im not saying these are the greatest seats in the world, they are considerably more comfortable than the Prius units, so I had a look at why.

The Ford has adjustment all over the place and is better shaped to the human form
It is both softer and more forgiving, but has good supporting side bolsters on the base and seat backs. The set appears to be a lot lower in the Ford

    In dimensioning both:
Seat Rails are F447 and P441mm apart at the centres
Seat Width 519F and 540P at the top of the base
Squab Height F108 and P185mm from the rail to the top of the base
Squab Height F230 and P300mm from front floor to top of base at front

If I was to swap these out, I think they way I would approach it is to remove all the Prius stuff including the rails and begin fixing the rail equipment from the donor seat. I havent had a good look at it but I think it would mean fabricating some packing posts here and there as obviously the Fords the floor shape of the pressings arent exactly alike. The only other way to go is to adapt the Prius travellers which run in the rails to the Ford seat bases. As the latter maintains the original rails in tact it might be a structurally safer course. Especially given the 1/4" difference in the base dimension of the rail width isnt a lot, affixing Prius travellers to Ford seat bases doesnt seem all that complicated.

The most startling statistic is the height difference, due to the fords more rakish fit some 2" at the front and 3" at the rear! I think if I was 6ft tall, or in the car for hours a day I would definitely be looking a lot more carefully at this. For the time being, I might just keep a 'weather eye' on some loose seats with their rails. Or if we scrap the Ford...

Got my driver seat in but I didn't have power seats before, do I need to get someone to custom wire up my driver seat?
