Thanks. My question was different, not related to steering controls. Please scroll up a couple of posts for my queries. Thanks in advance!

    1. Will the steering wheel controls be able to work with the pio unit for native pio control? Will they also function for CarPlay?
Carplay is all Touchscreen, and yes, they will work for pioneer native control.

    2. Will the car information interface and info still be available for servicing?
If you are talking about the screen on the radio that shows the car graph or the mpg graph then no. All other factory information is available.

    3. The pio unit has a hookup for a separate Sirius tuner. Will the xm tuner under my driver seat plug into and function?
No. You will need the pioneer adapter.

    4. Will the backup camera still function?
You will need to get an adapter for this to convert 12v from the radio to 6v for your camera.

I really have scant love for the current JBL head unit. I know I would like the pio unit.

OK, do you know if there is another way to access the vehicle settings page you presumably lose, like door lock beep volume, etc.

The only way I am aware of is through the Toyota dealer tech star tool (i think thats what its called). There is an iPhone app that works over the OBDII port but I can't find the post again. Ill keep digging for it.

Have you tried an OBD II tool and the Carista app for Android or iPhone?

Lots of info in the thread I linked if you do a little digging. It lets you customize settings and read and clear codes.

That's the app!!! I knew someone would chime in. I couldn't find it while I was at work. I kept seeing dashcommander but I knew that wasn't it.

Does the voice command button get mapped to Siri if you use the steering wheel control adapter?

Apparently this is no longer true in 2017. Crutchfield sold me an adapter kit. I'll let you know how well it works out.
