2013 Plugin? Any mod added? I only see Prius 5 rims and door molding. What ride are you getting in replacement?

Only 30k miles on a 2013? I already have 35k on my 2014 :p There is a chance the used market will improve for sellers in a few months when the carpool stickers run out. I would think that would be a good time to sell (unless you're trying to get a new PHEV with them now).

Man depreciation sucks when selling so soon.

KBB says $19,260 for an Excellent condition 2013 Prius plugin

Yeah...it probably sucks even more to try to find one at the price. I love when idiots quote KBB!

This idiot, and most of the general public understand KBB is benchmarking tool.
Dealers and leasing companies use it as a pricing guide as well. So this idiot can't be that far off now can I?

Have you tried looking for a Prius PlugIn very recently?
Do you think a dealer would let a sale walk away if that car has been sitting on the lot for some time?
Shall we go on a field trip to a few dealerships, so this idiot can show you the realities of hard ca$h? If so, PM me and we'll go on our field trip to a few dealers that have a 2013 PIP w/ 30,000miles in stock.

You do realize it is a buyers market for hybrids? Hybrids are moving out very slowly ever since gas has dropped. Yes, gas will rebound, and has gone up some, but it is still a buyers market for Hybrids.

FYI, KBB lists the same PIP, as a CPO price of $21,640. Again, a benchmark.

I don't think calling others idiot is a good idea especially in public forum.
Personally, I use kbb as reference but I also understand car market is way too complicated than just numbers, there're so many factors could affect car price. However, most ppl I know seemed to trust kbb so exstudent got a good point

You do realize you are talking with someone that wholesales over 120 vehicles a month? I might know a little bit more about car sales than you. I could be wrong though. You quoted KBB ....you did not say you were using it as a starting point. You only accomplished one thing....coming into the posters for sale thread and shitting all over it. I am not contributing either so this will be my last post. Sorry OP and GLWS. It is beautiful

Prius, tacoma, and fj cruiser regularly sell for MUCH more than kbb. And to the fellow talking about buyers bakery add had is lew, I don't know what you're smoking but regular ol' 87 is up to and over 4.00 a gallon again...

I hope you do realize that people aren't going to take a word of "someone that wholesales over 120 vehicles a month", if anything your "support" will be a negative for the price point for all those considering to buy.

2015 plugin has a base price of around 29K in CA with manufacturer discount (and I looked at a shitty dealer), add to that government rebates rebates of about 4K, and you are talking around 25K *before any negotiations*. So 2.5K depreciation for a 2 year old car with 30K miles, I think most people with rely on the KBB. Most buyers of plugin are probably not going to see the additional 2..5K as something that will break their bank.

I see high priced plugins listed on craigslist all the time, they don't sell for a long period of time, so sellers are probably fishing for some less knowledgeable person who sees the MSRP and thinks "hey I am getting a deal". The high prices listings are definitely not intended for efficient markets.

Same goes for all of the models I listed above. Horrible market to buy used but they sell for their astronomical prices on the regular. Yes a few thousand more for new makes sense but others don't know, care, or cannot swing that extra money. Also you're quoting which plug in? There's lots of options and two main trims. Msrp goes from a little over 30(after delivery charge) to 40k... for a loaded advance with options and delivery. What rebates one gets are not universal so hard to really chime in there.

I just bought a 2012 plug in for $18.7k with 60k miles. Guy had it posted more than three weeks. That was in SoCal. I looked for a long time.

it's interesting, when you're selling, you can't seem to get kbb, and when you're buying, same thing.

i notice the same thing at car auctions. they always seem to go for cheaper than you can find them for.
