iPad changes only when it's in sleep mode but it's very very slow. iPhone yes but not that fast either.

My iPhone 4S charges through the USB port, but like Robert above said, it's not the high wattage USB that Apple cheats with.

I believe the USB is 500 mA like most older laptops. The iPhone charger is 1000 mA while the iPad is 2.1 A (2100 mA). I use the USB port when I need to charge in a bind, but whip out my 1000 mA cigarette lighter one when I need a fast charge.

Yes! It charges. I've charged an iPad (very slowly) an iPhone, a Kindle and a Droid Incredible with the USB port (not at the same time, obviously ;))

My iPhone 4 charges fine with the USB port but it is slow. To solve that and be able to charge my iPad I bought a 12 volt socket charger, mine has two USB ports one is 1 amp and the second one is 2.5 amps. Works like a champ!!

I have an HTC EVO LTE (Sprint) that I cannot use BT to connect to my new Prius C--just got it today. Any tips? I just got the Jelly Bean update for it as well.

Sprint replaced my phone. It looks like the Jelly Bean update might have busted my phone and the one Sprint sent me still has Ice Cream Sandwich. If you Google "jelly bean and Bluetooth", you'll read about users having a lot of problems getting these two to work.

Everything works now exactly like my wife's iPhone, but my my Evo LTE is using Ice Cream sandwich.

    iPad ? HD

No problems with my Sprint EVO 4G LTE and the JB update other than the JB degrades on other apps.
(Last HTC device for me - going back to Samsung after Sprint's 2-year curse ends).
I originally paired the phone while on ICS, I'm thinking a virgin JB pairing would have not have worked.

iPhone 5 charges great only with original Apple cable. Bought a cheaper cable on Amazon just for the car and Entune said something like" accessory power draw too high, turning off". Stick with the original cable.

    True.

The iPhone takes its sweet time even on computers which feature a USB 2.0/1.1 port with a "lightning bolt" on it, designating it as a charging port.

On such a port, which is intended to mimic a true charging cable and ac plug, the charging starts out very, very slowly, and then speeds up rather rapidly towards the end. I have seen the reported charge staying in the 60 percent area, and then go to 100 percent quite fast.

I have a 2.1A charger in the 12V port that I use for charging my phone; I leave the 500mA port for my passengers to charge with. The data port will charge my Nexus 6, but very slowly.
