How were you able to run the wire from the power source? Can you please post some detailed description of how you acheived it? I haven't worked under the hood ever other than giving a jump start to my friend's car once. So, your detailed description on this will be a life saver.

I don't see a need for a holder; the display shows my audio, I dial using the speed dial on the display, and I use the Bluetooth hands-free audio. So for those reasons, I never touch my phone when I'm driving--which is as it *should* be.

I had a holder in a car before my first Prius, and I found it unsightly; I would never blemish the Prius interior with any sort of phone holder. The cup holder is where my iPhone 5 lives, and when I go into a store I usually put it underneath the console in the lower tray.

I don't want to get sidetracked, but I do have to ask — why would you ever leave your phone in your car?

It is interesting reading an older thread like this. It is clear that there is a turnover of active PC participants. Evidently people really get active shortly before and after they buy a PIP. Then after a while and all their questions have been answered, they begin to drop out. I wonder how long active use of this site is on average. I'm guessing about 60-90 days. It is still a valuable source of information and I suspect I will be returning periodically as I run into new stuff. A great bunch of really helpful people.

I use one of those $5 sticky pads, and place it on the flying buttress with the cupholder closed.

Going to exercise is the most common I would guess.

I ran it in the dash near the door to the lower panel, then under the steering wheel and through the kick panel to the 12v in the lower tray.

I have since actually wired it in under the dash, but before I did that, I ran the wire as above. 6' is plenty of length.

^^^ Great idea. Was it easy to remove the standard knob, and it is easily reversible?

Unfortunately, The Nimbus Mount at Amazon won't ship to Canada, and it isn't there on the Canadian site. I can't find it on eBay either.

To remove the knob was super easy, just rotate counter clockwise a few times and it comes off. PM me I send you one.
