Maybe it's it !! Or maybe it's the plugin version. The front looks more ford fusion to me could the Gen 4 be a cross between a fusion and volt ? Am excited though ...more to come for sure, I bet u before the volt 2 release.

Why would the tape a gen4 no . Tests should be done. So maybe it is the pip after all which might be 6 months after

    Interesting find.
But unless the Gen 4 Prius is based on a new "Duct Tape" platform, I can't really tell too much.

Do remember they can put "stuff" under the tape to conceal the -actual- shape.

It's just the "spy vs spy" thing car manufacturers do. It's a very competitive market.

Interesting. It looks like the windshield won't be as steeply sloaped and at the same angle as the hood.

I can't tell too much yet, but I can say that I don't like the way the narrower windshield is.

    Great find...

You can see the Prius in front has one of those Michigan Manufacturer's plate. They usually drive in packs!

This one ran low on fuel and the pack left him

The tail looks different than any spy shots we've seen. It does remind me of the squared off, sedan-ish volt. I wonder if they had trouble with rear visibility with the redesign, and they eventually decided to ditch the vertical back window and drop the upper hatch window at a steeper angle. Surprised they'd still be changing such things so late in development, but it would explain the delay and lack of info.

Haha but there is actually a Grey Gen3 Prius getting gas too in the booth in front of the test mule! That's the one with the Michigan plate.

The hatch looks shorter and hood longer.

The tire look to be lower profile. Either 60 or 55 instead of current 65.

Do you find it kind of funny that Toyota and most other manufacturers are reduced to concealing their vehicles or masking the reality, using duct tape and popcorn peanuts?

I mean it's OK, and I understand why they do it, but given that they are one of the largest builders of auto's in the world, you'd think they could be a little more sophisticated in their efforts to obfuscate than "Let's wrap her up in duct tape and electrical tape and take a road trip".

I sometimes wonder how much of happenings like this aren't orchestrated with an eye to building up excitement and hype about an upcoming vehicle, MORE than any real desire to keep the vehicle prototype hidden from the competition.

Happenings like this are inevitable and the publicity they generate is golden.

Does the hatch seems curved a bit?

Ya, looks more like sedan than straight match.
