Here's my hand. I'm over the hill by the sea, but that's not too far.

Here I am. As for uses of this forum, I'm not sure ... how about starting with the trivial (favorite car wash? max # of Prii seen in one day?) and take it from there when we see how many folks choose to participate here.

P.S. I like Matt & Jeff's Car Wash in Novato. My biggest prius sighting day was 4 in one day ... also, BTW I got a wave last night from "YOU'RE OUT" - gold Prius on Richmond-San Rafael bridge. Usually you all are so nonchalant, so I was happy to get a honk & a wave!

    Welcome Dave

How is the drive over 17 to the Silicon Valley? I haven't done that one yet in my "young" Prius. Mine must be young if you've already got 11,000 miles?!

    Hey Delray,

Welcome aboard. My favorite car wash would be Lozano's in Sunnyvale. I was nervous the first time I took my Prius there but they didn't even blink an eye. That must be because they are just down the street from Sunnyvale Toyota :)

I have only seen 2 or 3 Prii in a day, but I always try to wave or give a thumbs up.

Here is my hand! I'm in San Rafael and I always honk and way when I see one of us. I have a Driftwood Pearl. I have 2670 miles on it since March 11, 2004. The most that I have seen in a day has been 6.

I'm up in Sonoma County. My favorite car wash is Mission Hand Car Wash on Mission at Hwy 12 in Santa Rosa.

My biggies 2004 Prii sighting was 3 cars in the same parking lot. One was mine (Seaside) and there was a Driftwood Pearl and a Super White. This was at the "Village at Corte Madera" shopping center in Corte Madera.

    I live in the Tri-Valley.

I saw many Priuses when I went up to Hendy Woods. A few driving up and a few driving back, one was at Hendy Woods itself (a tideland I believe), there was an electric car there at that campsite. If you are on this site let me know.

I try to wave at those I see...

hey hey... i'm sure i've seen some of you on the road.

i live in ben lomond (sc mtns) and commute to san jose.
    santa cruz is my downtown.
i purchased from fremont (no wait and had leahter) but do all my service at stevens creek -- just did my 5k oil and 40D update.

does anyone here drive the silver 04 with license plate saying something like "mybrid" with a heart sign?

    Bob,
The drive over hiway 17 is great. I can pull the final grade to the summit at 65 if I want, but the speed limit is 50, so I usually don't. When I get to the bottom on the Los Gatos side, the meter is full of green bars.
Something i haven't figured out...I visit my dad in Boulder Creek, and driving from Santa Cruz (0 feet elevation) to Boulder Creek (700 foot elevation) my mpg always has a net gain. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining.

I would have to agree on the gain part. I love the trip over 17. On the way up you get an average of 25 30... on the way up.. and 100 down... it usualy brings my mpg up a point or two.

Any future plans for a meet up? on Priusonline.com there was a meeting notice for mountain view.. but i was only a day notice.. and i picked up my prius only the day before.

I can't give an accurate sighting number.. i know at least 5 plus.. between here and santa cruz.. there are a lot. Not to mention, my neighbor over here in southern san jose has a green prius... can't remember what the color is called.

I WANT LEATHER INTERIOR... did they charge extra for it? that's no fair. Everyone i talk to says it's impossible.

i like taking 17, too, just to up my mileage. :)
taking bear creek doesn't help or hurt too bad, though.

for leather, it's all aftermarket -- there's a few threads on this topic. mine is from classicsofttrim.com and i'm incredibly pleased with it. it will set you back roughly 1k, btw.

What about all the other little things.

Prius Decals... do you have to order.. or is there a place in the bay that possibly has them.

Tinting: anyone recommend a place in San Jose or near?

Eblems.. i see you have a pic of a gold emblem.. silver's cool.. but golds just way cool.

cleaning: any recommendations for the interior? i use a cloth i baught at lensecrafters for the screen and the sterio.. but the dash and doors are hard to keep clean.

Sun guard: a windshield cover.. thing... a friend said i might be able to pick one up at costco.. but i hear the prius window is huge.. any places around the bay anyone knows of that carries large sun shades? or do i have to order those too...

i guess i'll be spending a lot of money on the little things.. my main worry is the interior cleaning and the sun shade.

This place has custom made sunshileds for the Prius and they're in Sunnyvale.

the gold emblems were done at the same time the leather was installed... they are refinished from the silver. i haven't seen anyone else with them -- i didn't chose them, but am ok with them.

for cleaning inside, i read a post here about those swiffer cloths. i tried it and now keep one in that little compartment under the cupholders and use it 1x a week or so. it works on doors, dash, screens, windows. it is awesome.

Thanks for all the info. The page with the "heatshields" isn't working very well.

I'm in Sunnyvale, commute 280 N to SF in the a.m. and 101 S home in the p.m in my Driftwood #6.
I've seen as many as 7 Prii on my drive home in all colors. I saw 5 up in Tahoe over the weekend, all with Sacramento area dealer plates. We didn't get to take ours on the trip :( , which bummed me out because I thought it would have been so fun to get 99.9 mpg all the way down Donner Summit. :D
I also like Lozano's car wash on El Camino in Sunnyvale - they did a great job.
