Here are the part numbers for the official Prius XM kit.

    Tuner Assy 86180-0W030
    Mounting Kit PT546-47060

    Call your dealership for availability.

I found the Tuner Assembly online for $149. No price yet on the mounting kit.

Mind telling us where you found it online? I suspect the mounting kit is not really necessary.

I found in a pdf file that the $150 is the dealer's cost, with a $199 MSRP. PPO MSRP of $449:

PT546-35070 Fit Kit $75.00 $100.00 (for FJ Cruiser)
    86180-0W030 Base Kit $150.00 $199.00

    1.5 hours of estimated labor.

    Oh yeah, here's the pdf:

Mounting kit is a must-have. Includes antenna, cable to stereo, screws, brackets, and some extras like templates and zip ties.

I got the info out of the official Toyota installation instructions for XM for 06 Prius.

Ah, ok, was thinking it would just be a bracket to mount or something. So, if you can find it for dealer cost it'll be $225.

Has anyone had their dealer agree that these are the correct part numbers for the 2006 Prius? My dealer does not (he thinks they are for a Scion) and says his Toyota accessory database still shows the 2006 Prius XM Radio will not be available until sometime in April.

It doesn't matter if the dealer agrees. The part numbers I posted are correct. I got them out of the installation manual for the Prius.

Danny's part number for the fit kit is for the FJ Cruiser. (Danny, perhaps you should delete it?)

Is it possible for us as consumers to order these?

My question as well -- if there's a link to see the the actual kit, and how it installs, that would be great too.

Is the Prius XM radio system that you are talking about the one that Coastal sells or is it another one that doesn't in fact truncate every single artist and song in the title after 10 letters?

The one I'm looking for is the Toyota genuine kit, which I understand does not truncate. Please correct me if I'm wrong?

I am probably totally wrong, but I think only the 2006 will not truncate. I think it's a combination of the MFD software and the XM software.

    But I could be wrong.

Someone mentioned, I don't recall where, and if they had any information to back-up the statement, but that the truncation was a radio issue. If that is the case, then the new radio might not truncate in the 2004 and 2005. I guess we will have to wait and see after the unit comes out.

I had a 2005 and the XM radio. For me the 10 character limit was a definite annoyance and I am waiting for the new radio to put in my 2006.

it is my understanding also, that it is the receiver that is doing the 10 char. limit...

If I all ready have the older XM receiver do I need the mounting kit?
