I forgot I had my lift gate open and backed out of the garage...crunch! Broke off the plastic air spoiler thing. It was attached with some kind of adhesive covering 5 bolt heads and a snap on grommet at each end.
I drilled out the old adhesive on the plastic panel and chipped it off the bolts. I hope I can get two new plastic fasteners at Toyota or a body shop. Question...should I just use a two part epoxy (or what else is recommended) on the bolt heads to mount it again?

I had the same thing happen to my 2010 prius. I used 2 part epoxy to re glue the bolts back to the spoiler. the difficult part was getting them aligned correctly.

My 2005 Prius' rear handle assembly broke and was only held on by a couple of plastic fasteners. Every time we would forget the thing would flop down slapping the hatchback and hanging by the electric wires to the hatch release. I also JB Weld'd the bolts back in and it's working great! This lift gate assembly is $148 and up. Happy to help other DIY rather than buy overpriced plastic pieces of shit.

I feel better that I am not the only one to do this to the rear hatch! Good luck with your fix! :)

I opened the hatch and the unit came off. All the plastic tabs broke. Had to put 2 bolts through to deck lid in special bolt adapters; but it works! Saved a bunch of money.

Interesting, I'll keep that in mind.

I've used that stuff in it's usual application, sealing opening in a crawl space. Next time I'll wear gloves and wear a hat...

I've hit our spoiler maybe 3 or 4 times now. One time sort of derailed the the garage door, lol. So far the spoiler's survived, I've buffed it out and used black lacquer touch up paint. At least I'm getting cagier about it:

Tube insulation added, extends an inch or two beyond metal arm at bottom, secured with Velcro tape.
