Is 2014 Prius c supposed to come standard with a gas cap tether?

    It's probably an odd question because I can't seem to find the answer but does anyone know if the 2014 Prius c is supposed to come standard with a gas cap/fuel tank cap tether? It was purchased brand new from the dealer earlier this year and was my first car so I didn't know to look for it but after an incident (where I forgot to put the cap back on after fueling up and lost it) I'm starting to wonder if it should have come with one.. Please help?

    can't remember the last car i bought that didn't have one, and that's going back a few decades.:)

    i would go back to the dealer and show them. they should give you a strap or whole new cap. never heard this one before, someone had to fill it before you got it.:cool:

    Yes, dead simple: drive to dealership where they have a few similar cars on the lot. Get a service writer or mechanic, or even salesperson, check out if others have the tether. If so they'll get one ordered.

    it just occurred to me, are you driving around without a gas cap?

    Yes, at the moment I am. The dealership's parts department did not have it in stock so it will not be in until tomorrow. Also I wanted to figure out whether it should have had that tether or not before I go in to speak with them.

    They all are attached, not sure how yours would have come without one, how many miles were on your car when purchased? The reason I am asking, is to see if it was an unwound deal, and someone purchased it before you.
