Okay so i own a hifonics BXI 1606D 1600 watt RMS mono block amplifier and i just recently found out that i can easily install an after market head unit into my 2008 Toyota Prius so i am going to be doing that very soon, but i am just wondering in the mean time, since i have such a powerful amplifier what the charge rating is on the auxiliary battery system, i am some what worried because the Prius doesn't need the auxiliary to start the car and it looks pretty weak. so yeah i wasn't sure if replacing the stock battery with something like a deep cycle optima would be good enough or if some other modifications would have to go be done...

That’s pretty big amplifier for Prius. Especially if you install some other amp to power the speakers it will probably slowly drain the 12V battery if you play music at “full” volume.

prius isn't really a solid enough car to blast that amp with a pair of 12"s or something. if you just want clean bass at a decent volume, you should be fine. if your gonna blast it, aside from sounding terrible as the car rattles and buzzes along, you probably will toast the battery, and I think the current limit is 100amps. with the lights and a/c on you might fry something expen$ive...
