When you up sized your rims, the rotational mass gets pushed out, even if you have the lightest rim in the world, your mpg and acceleration will still get affected. Your battery do get charged up extremely fast too during braking.

Been there done that and now I'm on the SSR type C 3.8kg per corner and running on 195/60/15. Simply love the acceleration, mpgs and the fat tires look more than my previous 17"

Ok, JUST pulled the trigger. I went FULL ECO mode on the setup. 15x6.5" Heliums with 175/65/15 stock size General Altimax RT43 tires that weight only 14.6lbs compared to the stock EL400 Turanzas at 16.3lbs. We all know the wheels weigh 11.5lbs, a savings of 5lbs each over stock. So, I'll be saving approx 7 lbs per corner including the weight loss of the hub cap. Should feel a LOT stronger regen now when letting off throttle. =) And, with the same size tires, it will be easy to make a DIRECT comparison on how MPG is affected.

Oh, and get this! With the special that discount tire direct is doing, landed cost for the set AFTER REBATES is $437 for the rims/tires!!!

    Ok, I'm stoked. =)

Do you have a link for both rims and tires? How much for shipping? And how much more to install?

discounttiredirect, com (sorry, won't let me post links until I have 4 posts).

I got the credit card through them which gets you the extra $120 for the set of rims and tires together. Total rebate on the rims, tires and the DTD credit card is $295 which makes them like $437 delivered already mounted/balanced! I'll have to deal with the TPMS light for a while until I feel like having those swapped in (will prob wait until the tires wear out, so could be a while) Not too worried since the airbag light is always on anyway. Might as well have 2 annoying dash lights on. Lol.

    Any more questions, just ask!

Oh, they don't normally carry those tires, I had to hit them up on chat and the guy checked on said they could order them for $81 a piece (before any rebates) in the stock size (175/65/15).

WTH, ordered a 2nd set while they were still on sale a couple days ago. Both sets are now on the way? $365 for the second set (rims and tires, mounted/balanced/shipped/tax free) cause I chose some tires this time that were cheaper and had an additional rebate!

    So now I have coming:

    (1) Set of Konig Helium (Silver) 15 x 6.5 with 175/65/15 General Altimax43 tires at 26lbs ea.
    (1) Set of Konig Helium (Bronze) 15 x 6.5 with 195/55/15 Hankook Ventus V2 Concept tires at 28lbs ea.

And of course, I have my stock wheels/tires with 1k miles on them that weigh presumably almost 34lbs with hub cap (14oz.)

I'll report back when I get some seat time with one or both sets. =)

In other news, got my car tinted 18% all around yesterday (all 9 windows) for $157 OTD! Man, do I know how to find the deals or what? That and I'm getting close to 60mpg avg! I'm going to be rich! Lol.

Very nice! I was seriously looking at these before going with the Heliums. They are .8lbs lighter, but I was worried about the offset...esepcially if I was going to run 205/55/15's on them as they would be poking out a bit up front. Plus the Heliums were cheap and too good of a deal for me to pass up on at the time. But glad they're working for you, great wheels, and if you ever need to sell them, Miata guys LOVE those wheels. =)

Are those 15x7 with a 35mm offset? If so, do they rub? What size tires?
