    Hello,

My 12v battery died, I tried recharging it etc, but it was dead so I took it to my local Toyota dealer and had the battery replaced.

Because I had the battery off, there was a VSC warning light, which I thought that the Toyota dealer could reset. They re calibrated all the warning apart from one, they say that the Yaw sensor will not clear it's warning and needs to be replaced.

Does anyone now if I can reset this warning myself, or do I really need to replace this sensor?

    Hello and welcome to PriusChat.

I doubt that the VSC warning has anything to do with the flat battery.

I guess you mean they cleared all of the DTC's and the VSC code came back. Do you know what the code was, it should be on the worksheet?

You could if you had the right equipment, but what makes you think it will stay off if you reset it, when it won't stay off for the dealer? Also, why do you think you don't need to replace the yaw sensor?

    Thanks for the help,

They could not reset the VSC warning as one of the sensors would not calibrate. I will check the code, but from memory it was C123Y

I'm guessing that I do need to change the sensor, as the dealer could not clear the error, but I'd prefer not too as it's expensive.

    Could it be:

    C1234 Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction

Spending money to repair problems is just a fact of life, I would say that this is not a problem you can ignore. If you want to possibly save some money, you could see if a breaker has a working part in good working order. But other than that, c'est la vie.

    hope this helps.
