I installed ice>link plus in my Prius 06 with pkg 1 in 30 mins. Everything works perfectly with my 4th gen (click wheel) and 5th (video) iPod. It costed me < $100 on eBay.

I had emailed VAIS to find out more info on their video options.. they wouldn't disclose any information, and acted like they weren't familiar with the video iPod in that respect (i have ipod 60gb video). I was hoping for something that actually worked with the video iPod that would handle more than just the audio. I bought a Belkin FM Transmitter upon recommendation, but it's lousy. I talked to another guy that said he had some old fm transmitter (irock?) that is fairly clean. But then again, each car & stereo model is going to receive the signal differently (he doesn't have a Prius). Now in my SUV (well I don't drive it much these days) I have a JVC-MP3 disc player with an 8th inch stereo jack for aux input... all stereos should have that. Unfortunate that the 2005 model did not have those 2006 audio options.

Count me in for a group buy on the Vais. With its larger playlist capacity, it sounds like the one to go with.
    I have '04, package 9.

Would anyone mind posting some screenshots of their iPod solution in action?

I am getting a 2006 Prius and want to use my iPod in it. I'd like to be able to control it from the center touchscreen display, if possible, and so far I can't tell if you can actually do that or not with any of these solutions (I could be wrong and just missed the thread here).

Also - what I am currently using...

Im my current car, I have a CD head unit that has an AUX jack on it.

I got a SendStation PocketDock LineOut USB (link here: PocketDock Line Out USB. It was only $30 and it's GREAT! It allows you to connect the iPod very easily to anything with a standard headphone cord (not just this radio, but anything that has that connector - which is lots of things!). Not only that, you can "dock" your iPod at home to any computer and use a USB cord (in case you forget your iPod cable).

The sound is pretty much CD quality. I have tested it back and forth using the PocketDock USB and the CD player and they sound identical. :)

So I know my new 2006 Prius has an AUX jack, and I can always just connect it this way, but I was looking for a way to just plug the iPod in the Prius, close the console (where the jack is) and control the iPod onscreen (I have a 4g 60GB iPod photo).

    :)

I don't know of any that work with the 2006 Prius. VAIS is working on a version for the 06 and DICE is in beta with their product.

You can see pictures of the AIC-100i and SLI working in my 05 Prius in the following link.

Thanks for the info :) So for right now, it looks like I should just stick with my PocketDock solution. I'm sure a solution (like that DICE that's in beta) will present itself soon enough :)

Actually it does work in 2006 Prius, at least with pkg 1 (ie the low resolution screen model). See my post above. Here is the picture of it in action. Again I don't know if it works with the high resolution screens (eg pkg 2 and above).

This is great news. I heard that Vais is now also working with the 2006 Prius.

this is pay back for owning a suv.....just get a ipod/cassette thing[$25} and the connection is great....did they get rid of the cassett in '06?......if you ever just ride in a hummer the payback is really bad [eat 1st boy child, or something like that]......practiceing these principles in all our affairs.....hahahahahahaha

I'm wondering if the VAIS group by will be before the second coming? Eugene seems ever so axious to do this group by. Last time I checked, soon is relative.

Where's the document. It used to be on your post and it seems to be missing.

I have a 2005. Here's my idea: buy one of these, and a USB car charger like this:
    http://www.meritline.com/ipod-car-adaptor-with-usb-port.html

and an Ultimate Lockpick. Run a wire from the ultimate lockpick to the center console, plug in the USB charger to the PocketDock, and also the wire from the lockpick. Tiewrap it neatly, and I can plug one connector into my iPod and get power and audio out.

Any idea why that wouldn't work?
