I believe so. And maybe more so since the odometer is going to register slightly more distance travelled, due to smaller o.d. of the 17" size. But it's not a lot I think.

Again, our main motivation at time-of-sale was to avoid the 15" utilitarian alloys with plastic wheel covers. The alloys were at least silver in 2010/2011, then went to black, in 2012? Would be nice if they offered something like the plug-in 15" alloy rims: nicely finished, no plasticcovers.

That's true, ours are getting a bit chewed up. Virtually all on the right side, since I follow Toyota's guidance to keep tires on same side.

At least the silver touch-up pen is a perfect match. Up close it's still obvious, but softened by the paint (and protected). Move back some and it blends in better. I'm really surprised, even when people are trying to sell their rims, that they don't put on some silver touch-up. The sooner the better too, to not leave them bare metal.

I bought mine new and couldn't be happier with silver. I chose silver to avoid those ugly dried rain drop stains. . That and it's pretty snazzy with the solar roof.

I still have the rain drop stain issue. More one of dirt that sticks than water spots, though. Most don't realize water spots are more about what is left behind after the water evaporates away.

Here's my silver 2010. Great color for cleaning up, and I think it looks cleaner than a lot of colors, even when dirty.
First silver car since my 1976 Toyota Celica, so it's not like I have to have silver or anything, but I do think it is classy.
I like a car to look good but don't have the time to keep a dark car clean, and I find I get tired of the brighter colors, so I'm probably old and boring, but find the color easy going, so I'm not tempted to trade it or anything on the latest color, so in a strange way it's helping me to save even more money.

I'm in the Desert so my 2008 and now my 2013 "3" are silver. They don't show the dust as bad and they are cooler than darker colors when it's 115 degrees.

That's the issue with picking colors. Unless you just love the color, you often can't go wrong with the "neutrals" (Black, White, or Gray).

Our 2012 level 5 we bought new has 17" wheels. We have 51,000 miles on the original tires and I think they might go another 15,000.

Stumbled across this thread and since my car is silver decided to comment. 2013 model four with sun roof solar package. Silver looks sharp on a Prius, contrasts well with the solar panel! It hides the dirt well and any blemishes. Dynamite look when it's clean.:D
