I'm going to add B-Quiet Ultimate to the doors tonight. Any feedback about removing vs. replacing the plastic vapor barrier after installing B-Quiet?

I was hoping to rip off the plastic and seal the door with the new stuff instead, is that ok?

I ripped the vapor barrier out when I installed the b-quiet. I live in a rainy area and have had no problems with removing the vapor barrier from the Prius or any other car I have owned.

I replaced the plastic vapor barrier with a layer of b-quiet and it works great.

To those who have used B-Quiet, does it seem to help SIGNIFICANTLY? I have very few complaints about my '06 except road noise (it seems to come mostly from below, not from the sides)

I did all 4 doors and didn't notice any change in noise level. I agree with you, the noise in the Prius seems to all come from the front and below.

The B-Quiet doesn't really help with road noise that much. It's more of a solution for better sound response from your audio system.

Bquiet cut my noise levels a lot. I only did the doors. I think the people that claim little difference probably only used the damping. I used the damping, then the absorber, then a third layer using absorber.

The originial vapor barrier just peeled off and I put it back on where it was no problem.

Made more noise difference than changing to better tires which also helps a lot. Plus my heat and ac loads are reduced noticably.
