The $0.60 - 1.00 /gallon difference within 2 miles in a main shopping zip code in my town, is in the same locale, same jurisdiction, not crossing any civil boundaries.

Stations on the Interstate here tend to run higher than average, but not the highest. The very highest are on major arterials, on extremely convenient corners for morning commuters who just discovered they are running low.

We have Costco, BJ and Sams Clubs within 3mi of each other, and enjoying one of the lowest prices in state. a couple miles away and it is +20cents.

Interesting that in Wash DC prices range from $2.67 cheapest (Costco) to $3.99 highest (several blocks from Congress). Within 4mi distance.

There are major pipelines connecting the Northeast refineries down to the Southeast, and beyond. The savings to them not to pipe the gasoline, but sell it locally, likely wouldn't show up in the price per gallon. On top off that, if they weren't making RFG for the Philly area, they couldn't sell it there anyway. It might of closed because it would cost too much for mandatory upgrades.
Yeah, and then there is the possibility of a local tax being added.
Then there is a LukOil I pass everyday with regular gas prices higher than premium of the station within a block. I have no idea how they (legally) stay in business.

How did you make 627 miles and I even barely make 450 miles?

I do, however, the predicted price ($45-$50k) is way more than I want to pay even with incentives. The offroad ability is very questionable as well. I'm still keeping an eye on it though. I'd like to see it come out more affordable and with better offroad chops than most of the competitors that can't do much more than gravel roads. :)

Oh well, maybe because of my 18" wheels. Nevermind.

But great to have 600 miles.

Best 8 gallons I ever pulsed
    But heck - when you can drive the EV off the roof-top solar, well - even the Prius becomes the gas guzzler. One thing I note about the $4+ gas prices in Cali - the truck owning prius haters like this;

    priSMOKE.jpg
they're not bragging how cheep it is to drive out a tank-full any more.

    ~10.9 gallons over a three week period in 2013 . . . my eyes.

Please don't take these as anything but what they are, jokes and funnies. I do these things for a laugh because so many people take these things so seriously. Like EV advocates who never really discuss their 'drag energy.' But if you want one of my double mileage jackets, we can talk but not here.

All I know is if I was driven my Tundra I'd be 3/4 the way threw the second tank to see 399. So I have a sick evil little smile on my face. My ZZR 1200 doesn't get mileage like that.

When gas was expensive I used to go through a tank a work week at $70+ in my RT Charger. That's nuts....

Bob is big and heavy, which holds down his MPG. Lighter Japanese hypermilers have done better. Over five years, they pushed their single-tank best up from 112 MPG over 1456 miles, to 118 mpg over 1889 miles. Here is a listing of past records that Ken from Japan provided (never mind the American tread title): 77.7 Miles per Gallon for 13 miles | PriusChat

The most I paid for one tank of gas was $95 4.60 a gallon. I almost capped myself.

It was a real driving stunt that took three weeks. I did in part because I get so disgusted with those who take driving stunts so seriously.

Like John1701a says, 'Just drive the car.' We can do some simple things but it is a tool, not a Job!
