I noticed today in my new to me 2007 that the dash is lifted a little where the airbag is on the passenger side. Should I be concerned? IMG_20150716_191551.jpg IMG_20150716_191542.jpg

it's probably just deformation of the dash material from heat. the previous owner must have parked directly in the sun a lot.

I actually think this is caused by the spring from the upper glove box

Does your upper glove box flap open and stay up without issue?

This is correct. It is possible to fix that by re-securing the end of the spring. My 2004 had the same issue with the bulge in the dash panel. After I fixed the spring, the bulge gradually disappeared as the plastic slowly resumed its original shape.

Looks exactly like mine when it had broken upper glovebox spring mount. Dash itself did get back to correct shape after parking it into direct sunlight for half a day. Here that required rare hot and sunny day (wouldn’t have worked this summer). But there probably any day is fine…

I did the fix almost as on that video.

Nice video! I'm tempted to fix this on my 2005 but I really never open the glove box. I guess I'll make it a project if I'm bored one day.

Ok, I am back, upper glovebox doesnt stay open, so will be fixing that and the murderously hot Florida sun will fix the dash. Thank you again lovely people of PriusChat.

great find, I think im going to use plastic wall anchors in the hole for more support, I think the spring tension will break the plastic again over time

My 2005 has the same issue, always wondered what was causing that. Will fix this as it has always bothered me!
